NintendoParts.com.au - This is part 1 of 2 of a detailed video tutorial guide on how to replace (repair, fix) a Nintendo DS Lite NDSL bottom screen from NintendoParts.com.au
Thank you Supermodchips. I managed to replace the broken screen and got the NDS lite in perfect working order again thanks to your tutorials. The little touch screen ribbon cable was the hardest to fit properly because for some reason it kept not making contact until I plugged it back in for the fourth time or so. Still, kudos to you and people like you who take the time to enlighten us with their knowledge.
heres a *TIP* for lining up your touch screen and bottom screens perfectly. put the touchscreen (with black frame attached) directly into the ds face down. then put the lcd screen right on top of it. the ds housing lines everything up perfect and you can not make a mistake !!!
Is the tape actually just rubber electrical tape? Or is it a specific type of adhesive? I’ve been trying to find a match to the stuff on the back of my bottom screen from my original DS
Whilst removing the small ribbon cable the little black pressure lever completely came off. I'm pretty experienced with doing this kind of work, but this has never happened to me before. I was being very gentle but it still popped out. Has this ever happened to you? Is there a permanent fix? I ended up sliding a folded piece of paper on top of the ribbon cable to re-apply the pressure and that worked, but I'm not sure how permanent it is. Thanks :)
I have a question. Now my ds bottom screen turns on and shows a display, but I let my little cousin play with it a while back and it's not touch responsive. If I switch the top part of the screen with a new one will it work again ? Or do I need to buy a completely new lcd screen?
okay, so i did the replacing of the case from one of your other videos, but now my touchscreen doesnt wanna work. and everything worked fine before i took it apart to replace the case. i cheaked the ribbon that connects the top plate to the bottom one (thats the only one i had to mess with) thinking that i didnt have it pushed in all the way, and it still doesnt pick up the touch signals. what do i do now?
My bottom screen displays fine but unresponsive to touch. Do I need to replace the top layer or the bottom layer? Hope you understand what I'm talking about.
so I dropped my ds and now it has a huge scratch in it and the touch screen keeps thinking I'm pressing down so i cannot do anything. Do i need to replace just the touchscreen or the entire screen to get rid of the scratch?
I guess you get problems with NDSL because of it's small, frail size... Standard NDS without the fancy being slimmer, slightly bigger screens and not to mention DSi are a lot better. Sure, they may be chunkier, but I've had mine for three years, and I have never experienced a single problem with it. And no, it has not had an easy life either. Either way, great vid.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!! my friends dslite which i borrowed broke and i am in an urgent rush to get it fixed... i dissassembled and assembled the dslite but the little green led turns on and then off... Have I done something wrong? how can i fix it?please help...
How the fuuuuuuuuck do I remove those little triwing screws? You make it look so easy. You must have a blunt triwing screwdriver or something, or the screws were loose to begin with. I can't even move the little shits with force.
my DS lite screen is calibrated WAY to the left and when you try to recalibrate it doesnt stop it has you pressing the red squares for hours and never stops!
My DS's touchscreen isn't responding to well at the moment. It works if I put pressure around the panel but I have to repeat this after a while. Anyone who knows what might cause this problem?
dude I got a complaint!, I know this is for help, everything was ok till I encountered the touch screen wire connected to the motherboard, man! it gave me a hard time!, first I couldnt find a careful way to unplug it, so what I did was to lift up the tiny metal parts which made them to fall off when I put them down, since the wire is bended cuz thats the way it comes from factory you cant get a good grip to push it back in the motherboard so now what I have is a bended screwed touch screen wire (cuz that many times trying to plug it back made it break) the conector missing some metal parts and I cant plug back the motherfucker!!! please dude tell me the proper way to do it......
lol, man, I did my sisters Nintendo DS commando style, completely changed the casing to a Lime Green, and the top screen (but it has one small blue stuck pixel, maybe it will go away, those bastards). But, those plugs you use to cover the screws, you can't get them :( Anyways, good tutorial, stop complaining that he broke your DS.
Another tip: Wipe the LCD before installing the touch screen. After all you don't want a fingerprint or any other nasties haunting you and your DS for the rest of the DS,s life!
