Great video - I watched it yesterday before I swapped out batteries. We own a 2019 model with two (2) negative connections and three (3) positive connections. I see only one (1) of each in your video. Do you know if this changed for new GS310 models? Thanks again for sharing this video!
I left my lights on over the weekend and utterly killed my battery- thanks to this I was able to get it all swapped out with a new one by myself! Cheers, I wish BMW would make these sort of videos almost like a 21st centuary manual but I suppose it would mean less cash for their mechanics
Matthew Skipper bro you could’ve just jumped your bike, would’ve saved you money. I’ve killed my battery 2times now and jumped it both times no problem.
@@MattsMotoWoRX dont know what I want to see yet, or maybe I should say I want to see everything. I have a 310GS. I subscribed you already because I believe i will come back to check your video again when I need to replace the air filter or do other jobs.
Matt Just bought the wife a 2018 BMW G310R the bike has a dead miss at idel and will die sometimes but will start right back up. I drove it around the block at home and it died when coming to a stop sign but fired right up. I did replace the battery because it seemed weak it was 4 yours old. Im thinking spark plug or coil. Any ideas would be helpful
I have a question for bmw g310r owners. So recently my bike wasn’t not starting and I believe it was the battery and when I tested the voltage it read very low. So I brought the battery to get charged and when I received it back it read higher then the normal voltage and amps on the original package. So I preceded to follow your instruction in putting the battery back in the bike however it’s letting a go a spark every time it’s time to put the ground thermal in. Can someone help? Thank you
A general question, do we need to wait till the engine symbol goes off and then push the starter button or can we start immediately after turning ON the keys?
Hi, As I was facing starting issues I charged the battery separately and it read 13.7 v, when I connected it to bike it didn't start for even once, the battery symbol came up. Jump started the bike and drove for 2miles, the bike stopped suddenly and the headlight n console light dimmed, looks like the fuel pump didn't get enough power to push fuel. Is my battery gone or problem with alternator?
One thing I have noticed is that the service overdue light has started coming on since swapping the battery- anyone got any ideas how to get that to go away without taking it to a dealer or getting a special diagnostic tool?
Matthew Skipper the only way I know is by doing either of those things. I haven’t found any way around not having to use a diagnostic tool to reset the service indicator light
@@MattsMotoWoRX Thanks, I set the date to back a few months and that seems to have got rid of it for now- guessing it will come back after a certain number of miles
@@matthewskipper5542 I have also experienced this but mine was a recharged stock battery because I discharged it. Until now there is a service sign popping on my dashboard and I dont know how to solve it esepcially I don have the tools to troubleshoot it.
