Is your clutch pedal sticking to the floor of your car? If so it's most likely your master cylinder or slave cylinder. In this video I show you how to replace a clutch slave cylinder on a Mitsubishi L200 LWB. I also show you how to replace clutch slave cylinder seals. By doing this job myself I saved over 200 euro. Not bad for 1 hour. :-)

Your using RU-vid tutorials for automotive repairs.. And you complain about southern accents?.. Thank God those southerners are capable and generous enough to create that content for your benefit.

Amazing how in so much force as inside a hydraulic part you can feel it in the pedal. I just got a new slave cylinder for my '03 Hyundai Accent...... it appears it was cast BACKWARDS..... bleeder screw is blocked by the coolant pipe on front of engine block. AutoZone shows rebuild kit.... diagram and part # but I couldn't get them past "we don't stock it". So, I used piston, spring, pushrod, boot from new and installed in original. HOwever...... what's the small spring and valve plate for in the inlet? It's difficult to insert and keep straight..... Good show, thanks.....

It may just be for an Accent with LHD (assuming yours is RHD?). Technically all you've done is use the new slave cylinder's parts as a repair kit for yours, which is fine. However, make sure your original slave cylinder does not have any scratches and scorings on the inside of its bore. If it does, it will probably leak and not hold pressure well. Also, I know which part you are talking about with the little spring and plate with a tiny hole in its center. Not entirely sure what it's for but definitely keep that in. Use a small pencil to push it in nicely till it sits flush.

+Kryndon64 Hi, I bought a new one for mine. I was just pointing out that you could buy a repair kit but only if it's not scored or damaged. You might have missed that bit as my accent is a bit strong. Hope this clarifies the few issues you had.

Hey, haha sorry. I was actually replying to 'One World' who had a question. Otherwise your video is great you seem to have done everything correctly. Also don't worry about the accent it's fairly mild; I've lived in the UK for awhile now.

@@Kryndon64 I'm currently replacing my clutch slave cylinder & I'm not sure where that little spring plate goes either. Unfortunately I didn't notice where it was located on the old one after removing it last night. The replacement part came with one as well. But the only place I figured it could go was on the slave cylinder end of the push rod, inside the cylinder dust boot seal. Gotta hate it when you miss a little part like that removing something & then not being able to work out where it goes when installing the new one! Does anyone know for sure where that flippin' little part goes? Xmas time...everything is closed...typical. Appreciate any help. Well done on the video too 1stepatatime....nice work.

Hey when I removed the dust cover there was all liquid inside it which covered the push rod too. Does that mean I need to replace anything or can I just put it back together again? Its a honda accord type r 2001 vtec
@1stepatatimedc
@1stepatatimedc 5 лет назад
The only way you can put it back together is to replace the seals. Check if you can get a repair kit for your model car, failing that you'll have to get a new one. Hope this helps.

My 2009 Nissan Versa put the slave cylinder inside the clutch and also made my brake and clutch fluid in the same reservoir. When the slave went and my clutch petal stayed on the floor my brakes were wacky also lol

took my Nissan juke in today as leaking brake fluid from around clutch, they suspect a slave cylinder and wanted me to pay £230 labour costs to take out gearbox and confirm this before any work is done? wtf
@1stepatatimedc
@1stepatatimedc 7 лет назад
+chutchy107 it sounds like the slave is internal and not an easy fix like the one in my video.
