How to replace a NDSL Case 3

Thanks SMC for posting such a helpful tutorial. Actually its proly one of the best. I was able to finish the job in about 1 1/2 hour. Although the 4th part is lacking but you can work your way around it , its just mounting back the screws.

Thanks for the tutorial. Did I miss the part where the metal screw block for the battery case needs to be removed and replaced? I got everything together and tried to screw the battery cover back on when I noticed it wouldn't screw down and close. I needed to open it up again to put it in.

I did it exactly the way you did. Aperently the bottom screen is very dark and bas an even darker cicrcle in the center if the screen.

IMPORTANT QUESTION! The little white wire at 3:25 is coming out of the corrent spot, but instead of coming out of that spot and then going OVER the very tiny 4-conductor belt cable, it seems as if it would put a lot less stress on the cable if it went THROUGH the cable instead! It just seems like the white wire is putting pressure on the tiny belt cable when going on top of it, so would it be acceptable to go through it?

I wish there was a part 4. I was doing this while watching the videos and after part 3 ended I tried to finish off my job BUT I managed to snap the tiny bit of plastic off my power switch. Arrrrrrrr!

I bought a broken one to practice on. The black wire never came out so I just ripped it off and then the motherboard wouldnt cooperate so the whole thing went straight to the garbage. Luckily I have my original.

@salv95 well mate what u have dun is when u were unplugging the ribbin cable u must have ripped it a little so u need to replace the top screen but u need to hav a soldering iron the desolder the speakers there are videos on youtube on how to replace the top screen and u can buy one off ebay for about £10 or i can do it for u

@Hydraxon493 You don't brick a motherboard, you fry it, you probably didn't ground yourself.

Do you have any suggestions. I am talking about the screw in the start of this video. I can't screw the screws in all the way. I have no problem screwing in the old part but the new one will not go all the way in.

I think your videos are great and everything was going well, but I've hit a road block. The problem is that the top cover to my replacement case doesn't slide up all the way. I'm positive I did it right because I put the old top cover on and it fits perfectly. If anybody can help I would highly appreciate it. If at all possible before Thursday. Thank you.

@MrsNk69 no no the motherboard sould be fine all u need to do is desolder the small broken connector off and solder a new one on if u can i can fix it 4 u maybe hope that helped

since there is no "Part 4" video to this, go to "How to repair a Nintendo DS Lite NDSL Bottom Screen 2" and it picks up at 1:50 about the buttons.

There doesn't need to be a 4, watch his other videos. The rest you need to know is included in them :)

i tried to reassemble the dslite without part 4 but now the touch pad wont work? what should i do?

i have a problem, my right button doesnt work but i put a screw in it but the screw got loose like my screwdriver doesnt work on it anymore... plz help!!

@atakkuuuuu Did you atached the small ribbon of the touch screen aswel?some people intend to forget about the smal one, and only atach the big one

hi awesome tutorial, but after i finished my top screen only lite up with a black screen, the touch screen works fine, anyone know whats up with my top screen?

@mikiloly yeah i made sure that i did attach the small ribbon to it's place. i reeeeaaallly hope i didn't damage it in the process. >_>;;

First I thought this would be easy until wanna my screws got stripped then the ribbon cable was a real pain my screen was on crack and wouldn't let go the case I got from china was to small, half the parts don't fit, when I was finish my ds only flickered, should of listen to the guy on that one, had to take it apart again and put the ribbon cable in some more, struggle with L and R buttons blahhhhhhhhh, in the end it works but wont close all the way, still need make some adjustments.

@atakkuuuuu Hmmm when i had that problem. i was lucky enough to lend my friends DS to try it with his screen module, so i knew i had to replace the entire touch screen module. but at this point its hard to tell whats wrong with your DS :( sorry

can someone please answer this!!? after doing all of this my top screen just displays black with a couple of colored lines going through it when it turn it on... WHAT SHOULD I DO and what have i done wrong!?
