This video shows the easiest order of steps to replace the alternator in a 2004 Ford Mustang GT with the 4.6L SOHC configuration. The steps might be slightly different for V6 and 4-Valve DOHC New Edge Mustangs. The V6 Mustangs don't have brackets over the alternator and only have 2 bolts holding the alternator in place. For 4-Valves, you will have to remove the bracket entirely. The other thing to note is that they both have different belt routing patterns, but that should really be a problem, just don't take the belt all the way off. All other steps are pretty close if not exactly the same. I have seen many other methods and steps taken to replace the alternator that involve the unnecessary removal of hoses and brackets or not properly using the belt tensioner pulley. This video shows the easy way. The replacement alternator is an upgraded PA Performance 130 Amp alternator.

0:07 - Step 1: Disconnect the battery
0:44 - Step 2: Remove serpentine/drive belt from alternator
1:25 - Step 3: Remove 2 front bolts from alternator bracket
1:43 - Step 4: Remove 2 bolts at the bottom of alternator
2:00 - Step 5: Remove positive electrical connection from alternator
2:23 - Step 6: Disconnect electrical harness from alternator
2:48 - Step 7: Put new alternator in place and install bottom 2 bolts
3:11 - Step 8: Fasten 2 top bolts on alternator bracket
3:30 - Step 9: Reconnect electrical connection to alternator
3:53 - Step 10: Put serpentine/drive belt back on
4:24 - Step 11: Reconnect battery
