Scotty Kilmer Hi there, I have a quick question. My breaks went out suddenly the other day. My brother came and found it was the rear left brake that was leaking. So he replaced hose and put new cylinder on . After he bleeds them and puts everything together after he test drives it they go out again and he noticed the cylinder pops off. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated:)

I have a 2012 Nissan versa. When I press my brake pedal I have to pump it to get the car to stop, however the abs light isn't on to indicate it's the abs. When I just press it the car keeps rolling as if the brake didn't engage. What causes this?

Exactly what I said Tyler O'Neill I watched 45 minutes worth of videos of terrible footage and what not and then came across this dude. To the point....Job Done... 3 minutes...which is about what it took me to change that thing. Will definitely come back to him for future help!

A SHAT load of money. Edit: Nevermind this comment. At the end he says he'll answer our questions as soon as he "gets back from his SHACK" not "as soon as he gets back from his SHAT." i thought it was an outhouse and mis heard so the joke isnt actually funny anymore

Just picked up a 2003 Buick Century with 88k for 550 bucks that had barely any brake pressure. After looking around I found out that I need a wheel cylinder in the rear passenger tire. Will use this video to fix it. Thank you Scotty, you are awesome. Saved me a lot of money.

I greatly appreciate your video. Out of all the videos on here, yours was the best one. I just finished a rear brake job on my 06 HHR and it was a horrible experience. I don't ever want to go through that ever again. The worst part were the main springs. Took two days to finish. Thank you for all your help!

You saved me, Scotty. Did just as your vid shows. Only difference, I checked the line valve with a wrench before I bought a flare wrench. My car uses 12 mm, not 10. Other than that, no trouble.

think i messed mine up last night. replacing mine tonight! thanks for the informative videos! the snip pliers made getting the springs off SO MUCH EASIER! replacing the shoes took about 2 hours before i watched this video. i removed and reattached the shoes 3-4 times last night in about an hour because of your video

Thats why I like Scotty Kilmet videos. They are stright to the point, don't show 2-3min how to remove tyre. It helped identify problems stright away with loosing break fluid. 10 out of 10

You make taking the drums off look super easy. That wasn't the case with my Dad's 2005 Silverado. You'd be sitting there for an hour trying to pound off the drums. Started to have tons of problems that truck, so he decided to trade it in and get a Toyota Tundra this year. Its been worth it so far. Love your videos Scotty, you have no idea how much it has helped me working on cars. If I get stuck on something..I can watch one of your videos and hell, even ask Scotty himself! Thanks!

I have the exact same problem on a 81 Corolla, rear driver side wheel cylinder is leaking, I guess it's not a coincidence, right?

Okitavio i believe mines were leaking at one point, but i couldn't get anything to come out when bleeding them. I just put 2 new ones and i had brake pressure again.

I'm waiting on the new wheel cylinder. Hopefully it'll go on smoothly and bleed like it should. Now I just need to clean all the mess the leaking brake fluid has made over who knows how many years (bought the car a month ago)

Thanks Scotty. I just came from some new brake shop I'd never been to before and they said since my drum was leaking fluid I'd need new shoes and even drums, he said the fluid was 'pressed into the drum metal, they're no good now'. Plus then you want the other side done you're always told. Bottom line was he quoted me over 750 to fix the problem. Immediately I got a headache and a voice inside my aching head said to go home and think about it. I did some research, watched your video, and instead spent a whopping 30 bucks on a new wheel cylinder, flared wrench, and brake cleaner. I know what the boy and I will be doing tomorrow! Saving a whole lot of money while getting a free suntan in the driveway. ;)

fluid pressed into the drum is a bunch of crap, you can easily clean it with spray brake cleaner, don't go there again

You're the man... mine is Renault Master Rear Back Brake Caliper. i thought it was brake pipe that was licking but it it's not will have to take the wheel off to find out for sure, then bleed it, as i have no brakes at all.

you don't need any stinking hoses. When the air is gone, it stops burping gas out the bleeder and sends pure liquid out. Been doing it that way 45 years, just put a drain pan under if you don't like the mess.
