Thanks for the video. Im leaving on my bike in april to take a solo trip around the US for 5-6 months visiting tik tok followers & friends. So im getting my bike ready. I never did the back brakes before. But i know i can do it. I will also change my oil today. The tranny fluid & primary fluid only have about 2000 miles on it so im not gonna worry about that before this trip. If i end up riding and excessive number of miles, i can change that shit at a friends house. No biggie. I did my front brakes a month ago. and got a new rear tire. But it's back brakes & oil change today. Ill take the front wheel off next weekend to take in and get a new tire. And I'm ordering new speakers for the front fairing because I blew one out a few weeks ago. Gotta have music for this ride. But I should be ready to go on an adventure of a lifetime. Again, Thanks for the video. It's all I needed to know. 🤘✌️

Update on your thoughts on the EBC pads? About to replace mine but have heard of them being pretty noisy. Also I know the stock Harley kit comes with brake grease you apply to the back of the pads. You don’t use the grease?
@SinisterClutch
@SinisterClutch Год назад
The EBC pads do make a noise but it's not a squeaky noise but more like a whiney noise but not crazy loud. These did not come with grease but they were not a kit nor did I find a kit at the time. I did some research and didn't find anything on the EBC saying you needed to grease them. Also I didn't see other folks greasing them as well. Would I buy them again? Yes because they don't throw dust like the Harley ones and supposed to last longer which I'm still waiting to validate. Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any more questions. Take care ✌

@@SinisterClutch Appreciate the quick response! I’m looking for pads currently and was curious. I also have white walls on my RK Classic, so good to know about the brake dust. One other thing, I know the Harley kits come with a new caliper pin, do you think it’s needed or just swap the pads this go around? I’ve got 17k miles on likely original pads.

Is there a difference inboard and outboard pads or if they go in it’s right ?
@derekallen6043
@derekallen6043 10 месяцев назад
No anti-seize where the piston contacts the back of the pad sometimes they come with a stencil
@SinisterClutch
@SinisterClutch 10 месяцев назад
@@derekallen6043 Supposedly Outboard provides better cooling and easier maintenance. While Inboard its quite the opposite with creating more heat and harder to maintain. That doesn't play a factor for me because these are outboard brakes for my bike and I'd have to install an inboard kit to use inboard brakes. Also regarding the grease, I contacted EBC because I was curious as well and they said it was not needed.
