We highly recommend replacing your air filter with a factory Kawasaki air filter. If you keep up with vacuuming the filter, the factory filter will last a long time. Do not use high-pressure compressed air to blow out these air filters. You will create tiny holes in the filter and reduce the life of the filter dramatically.
Checking the air filter is something we do after a long dusty ride or after 3 or 4 rides if they are shorter. We always make sure there is no dust getting past the air filter. The Kawasaki KRX 1000 engines are very expensive and the air filter is the first line of defense to keep this engine working well and lasting a long time.
This process takes us about 5 minutes to do, including all the cleaning. It is well worth your time!
