I appreciate the video. It helped me understand the process of getting to the window motor. But why go to all the trouble to remove the window Channel? I did the job this afternoon without removing the channel or the window. It was much faster. I held the window in place with a couple of Clips on the lower window Edge, and then strung a bungee cord through the clips and attached the bungees to the door frame in such a way that there was upward pressure on the window, keeping it in place. Then I removed the four bolts that attach the regulator to the door. I slid the regulator out of the support platform under the window and then dropped it out the lower opening of the door. Once I had it out, rather than just replace the motor I opened it up to check the brushes and the windings. The brushes weren't making good contact so I adjusted them, cleaned up the carbon residue, reassembled the motor, installed it back on the regulator and put the regulator back on the door frame. The whole process was much faster than what you show by removing the window Channel and the window. I saved a few hundred dollars, and now have a fully functioning left rear window. An afternoon well spent. Thanks for the video tutorial. It was very well done and helped!

The easiest tutorial on RU-vid. Straight and to the point without all of the 'jabber jawing'. This is also a good tutorial for you if you have a 2004 to 2008 Highlander and your track has come off of the glass! On a side note ... I'm seriously concerned that Toyota hasn't done a recall on the major design flaw concerning these models.

very nice video, well done !, I have noticed a lot of people had the same problem....the bottom track at the bottom of the glass comes loose.....doesn't that have to be glued back in place ?. it looks like it could pop out again when the regulator lowers the window.

Thank you for this video! We had a problem with the window falling off of its regulator and these were all the details we needed to figure out how to solve the problem! Somehow, the metal track on the window moved a couple inches down the window... we moved it and put everything back together thanks to this video. Your time and knowledge are appreciated!

Thanks for such a good video. No need to take out window. The motor and regulator will slip right out of one of those holes. Took me 20 minutes to do this job.

You didn't mention idling the motor like you did for the front. Also although I was finding different part numbers for the front and rear motors I have installed a front motor in a read door and it works fine.

Thank you for the video. As an amateur, I really appreciate you going through the lengthy process of full removal. My window only went down 3 inches so it was a pain to get it out. I found after replacing the motor rolling the regulator almost all the way down was easiest to get the window back on track and guided into the channels. Bought the car this way and clearly someone botched the first attempt because the metal track on bottom of glass was all the way out to the rear edge. Yikes. Not sure how that happened.

The windows on my Highlander will go down, but they won't go back up. After a bit of time, it will go back up a couple of inches and then stop. After another little while it goes up a bit more. Will new motors fix this?

I can't find the 2008 highlander rear window fix. I think the motor is not working anymore. Is the steps the same in this video the same of my 2008 highlander?

Excellent video...my problem is the bracket,on bottom of window fell off..Is the best way to fix, by removing run channel, extracting window, etc? Or is there some way to get back on while window is still in the door?

what if you can't lower the window? (thats why the motor change) Can't get the run channel out without the window low in the track.

What if your window motor doesn’t work and your window is stuck all the way up. How am I supposed to remove it

If the long bar on the regulator is covering up the 3 torque screws, how do you move the bar so you can access the torque screws?

This is how to make a 20 minute job a 2 hour job, Do NOT take out the glass or the channel, just slide it out of the groove under glass.
