How To Reset Factory Alarm On Your 2005-2014 Mustang - Car Won't Start, How To Fix!

This video demonstrates how to reset the factory alarm on a 2005-2014 Ford Mustang. If you replaced your battery or unhooked the battery for any reason and your alarm activated (or your car won't start because of that), this will reinitialize the alarm system for you to start the car. We changed our battery out and when we went to start the car, it wouldn't crank. The flashers would start flashing, however the car wouldn't start. This method shows you how to reset the alarm system. Here are the steps:
- Disconnect the battery
- Put the key in the ignition and set it to "run" mode (2 clicks over)
- Wait 5 minutes for the module to lose all traces of voltage
- Reconnect the battery
- Turn the key OFF and press the LOCK button on the drivers door switch
- Start the car

My car didn't start after doing this, but it did on the first try after reprogramming the key fob. I'm sure my alarm needed to be reset since I replaced the battery recently, but if this doesn't completely fix the issue, try what I did. Here's how: Enter Vehicle Programming Mode. Turn Ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds, with the 8th time ending in RUN. Program Remote. Within 20 seconds press any button on first keyless remote fob. Exit Programming Mode. Turn ignition to OFF. Test Remotes. Test all remotes.

just bought 01 gt in april. let car sit in the garage for three months. battery 9 years old. bought a gb40 tried to start it. it went really far but didnt turn over. will change the key fob battery and try your steps. I really should replace the 9 year old battery no? lol.

Is there any way to completely disable the factory alarm on a 2007 mustang v6? The noise and blaring is just unbearable. This isn't the normal alarm sound that is triggered with the red button the key fob. This is very loud. Blaring. Dashboard and front lights flashing. Can this be disabled? It's waking the neighbors. Problem mostly went away after replacing the "door ajar" sensor in the driver's side. Behind the door panel in the latch. But the problem occasionally persists, especially when having battery issues.

2024 UPDATE, this happed to me, you don’t have to unplug the battery, just leave the key in the turned on position till it stops blinking, take it out and start it

I rebuilt the dash cluster on my 2005 Ford Mustang. I replaced the stepper motors for the Tachometer, coolant temp gauge and fuel level. A week after doing the replacement and driving the car for 3 days( total 300 miles) The oil pressure light came on. Even when the key is turned off and pulled from the ignition the oil light is still on. Car has oil half way up the working marks on it. I am afraid it will run my battery dead with that light on all light. What would you do?

My horn & flashers are going off continually, I took the horn fuse out & can't get the hazards to go off.. car runs and drives just has the hazards blinking! Any suggestions?

A reset may help, but have your battery checked. A low battery can cause a car alarm to go off more frequently.

Try jumping the battery. If that doesn’t work it could be the starter.

That is correct for the anti-theft system. See if you can reset the system to get the gauges working again.

Try this: Insert the key into the driver's side door lock. Turn the key once, but not all the way to unlock the door. Leave the key in this position for 40-60 seconds. ... Do this again, but turn the key in the opposite direction. Remove the key from the door, get into your Ford, and start the engine. The system should be reset. Also, try using the Key Fob to lock, then unlock it. Key fobs are crucial to the alarm systems on Fords.

Drop my keys in water and took it apart to dry out and now the anti theft light blinks when I insert the key
