I managed to overcome my OCD! Sometimes I still get that anxiety boost in some sort of triggering situations. Yet not focusing on it more and more frequently rewires the brain in the long run. I send a message of HOPE: YES, you can beat OCD!

Hey Danielle. As a longtime sufferer of OCD, I'm going through a particularly bad phase at the moment where I constantly get urges to look up bad news in the media (or "doomscrolling/surfing", I'm sure you're aware of the term). Anyway, thank you for this video. I felt it did a good job of helping me understand the conditions I'm suffering from more. I've kindly dropped a subscription.

My brain was soooo used to consuming pornograhy for 23 years, that it gets hard at times to fight temptations... but I have been rewiring my brain for almost 4 years now! ...in Jesus name!

Wow! Danielle, you gave such a great illustration that really describes the pattern I’ve been in for so long! I could easily visualize the rut I’ve been in, why I’ve been in it and what I need to do to get out of it. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, but you’ve made me see what’s possible if I’m willing to put in the work. I wish I understood this years ago! I think every mental health worker would become better if they watched your video! Thank you! John

Hi Danielle, you are one of the best I have ever found on RU-vid💙💙💙. Is it ok that I watched a lot of RU-vid videos and read on forums to understand more about OCD? I also had more than 35 sessions with a young psychotherapist in Italy, on third generation therapy (Mindfulness, acceptance). The therapist, not having suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder, did not understand me. I recognize myself in all your videos, you have experienced OCD. Can I ask you if you also read a lot about OCD? As you know we often feel guilty, everything has to go perfect and we don't accept even the slightest mistake. The mind is on alert and tells me "if you don't watch the videos and don't delve deeper you can't know much about OCD and how to overcome it". Especially as I wrote to you yesterday, I feel guilty because I was diagnosed with OCD in 2013 and I was really stuck. No one has ever understood and supported me in this war. I have had about 10 types of OCD. I tried to do the best I could but I fell even further into making mistakes... the more I wanted control the more I lost it. Is it right to hide behind OCD and justify that I lost all these years of youth? I gave it my all, and I hit the deepest ravine. My mind tells me that it's all my fault and that I can't justify myself, I'm responsible. It's not just the OCD, I fed these ghosts and continued to compulsate for years and years. Thanks for this channel Danielle ✨

You’re welcome, glad I can help! It sounds like learning about OCD has become a Compulsion for you, which is quite common. It also sounds like you’ve never had the proper help, so it’s not your fault that you continue to struggle. I have several different recovery programs if you’re interested, they are very effective, and I’ve never seen these tools not work when someone uses them consistently and sticks with them. www.MyOCDCoach.com.

I have gad but i see lot of things overlap with depression. Sometimes feel hopeless and despair about anxiety, when anxiety is low or not present there is hope again. Is this can be depression too or depressed about anxiety?
@MyOCDCoach
@MyOCDCoach Год назад
You could be experiencing anxiety and depression. Both consist of negative thoughts that we can learn how to react to differently and retrain the brain out of these habits. I address dealing with depression, and my programs as well, because it is very common in conjunction with OCD.

Ive ocd due to which things get stuck in my mind and keep repeating, it’s really exhausting. W time I’ve developed this fear of every thing getting stuck in my head, it has become so bad that I avoid every possible scenario where it can happen again. At this point, even the stupidest thing would trigger my anxiety and it’ll remain in my head for long and keep on repeating. Can somebody else relate?

Remember, the the avoidance is a Compulsion is making it worse.

So how do I rewire my brain from thinking that things will get stuck again, and then they’ll keep on repeating. Because this is my thought 24/7 and then everything triggers me and gives me anxiety eventually because I fear the repetition of thoughts so much. Plz how do I rewire my brain?
@MyOCDCoach
@MyOCDCoach Год назад
@@Pixelpin668 this is a loaded question, and will take time to learn the skills and put them in the practice. Check out the link in the description if you want my help with this. The short answer is not together, thought so much power, let them be there, but don’t give them attention. Again, this can be easier said than done and learning ERP thoroughly as needed.

I have ocd intrusive thoughts, and negative thinking. About 90% of my day is negative thoughts and over thinking. I also have false memory ocd which was the cause of all this but it's spiraled into something else the last 2 years. On top of that, I've had 2 family members committed suicide, 3 of my dogs died and I watch my grandma take her last breath and now my other grandpa and papa are both actively dying and on hospice. Just got that news a few days ago. I have frequent anxiety attacks, I constantly am focusing on death and checking on how I'm feeling. I'm now emotionless and have dpdr. I'm literally stuck. How can I fix my brain if everything in my world is going to 💩.
@MyOCDCoach
@MyOCDCoach 2 года назад
I'm so sorry you've been through so much! Your brain is just trying to protect you. The fear center of our brains can get really overactive when we are in "defense mode." But...no matter how bad it is we can always retrain our brain to get this part of it to quiet down (with ERP). To return the amount of intrusive thoughts (the thoughts we have a lot of times are quire normal) to a more reasonable level. To learn what to do with fear/uncertainty/imperfection so that anytime these show up in life, we can manage.
