Finally got my first RGH 3 booting perfectly!! Thanks for getting me into the hobby of soldering I never knew I would have so much fun learning how to work on a circuit board!
doing this tomorrow, just picked up 2 jaspers and 2 falcons cheap, cant wait, thanks alot for this video i used to watch your jtag tutorials back in the day, going to watch your updated ones when im setting up my new rgh3 consoles :)
*for, I really need to start proof reading more before I post..... Also, loved the video, gonna dig my old Jasper out, not modded aside from running LT+ 3
I have a Jasper white Xbox 360 and always wanted to mod it. Thank for this awsome video. It gave me the courage to do it because of the great details and explaining.
I had never done anything like this before, but with the help of your video I was able to get my console RGH'ed, it boots instantly and works flawlessly, I was honestly so surprised I managed to do it. Excellent video thank you!
8:05 while this method to open the console does work, I would still recommend unclipping them with a removal tool. not only does it feel like you are breaking it, if you do it too fast, you WILL break the tabs off, which means you won’t be able to put the case back on.
Several days ago I've modded one fat and one slim xbox 360 with this method. I hope I will get some new valuable tricks from this video. keep up the great work. :)
Thank you very much for this tutorial! This new method is WAY more accessible than the older ones for beginners like me. I also followed MrMario2011's tutorial for the Trinity, then you mentioned his tutorial and it all came full circle :)
my guy I'm so glad to see you and Mr.Mario posting these videos if it wasn't for MrMario i wouldn't have my rgh and if it wasn't for you i wouldn't have been able to set up my console so thank you guys very much (slim consoles only usually only have 27mhz dont worry its normal for anyone questioning why)
I'm not sure if you know this Modded but once xell is flashed you no longer need the nand reader attached after you flash xell as xell can flash through usb so if you write xell build the upd.bin you can put it on root of usb and it will flash it after approx 15 seconds or at least that's how i did my trinity's
@@OmnusNight Yes, it uses rawflash which can flash the nand without a hardware flasher. I've used that many times to fix consoles with corrupted nands where Xell was still bootable.
@@MODDEDWARFARE see now that I didn't know I didn't know it could flash a corrupted nand only that it could flash from usb so thank-you for teaching me something new
Still not a simple task with the 360's ey. Great guide, you are indeed on top of everything mate😊 Well done 👍 Will be waiting for your guide modding a 360 slim😁
Thanks for this guide. I just successfully RGH'd a Falcon. A word of caution for first timers - pay close attention to the RGH wiring. My console wouldn't boot properly after I did the RGH wiring. A quick tweak of the wiring layout and it boots fine now.
Hey! I just finshed my first RGH3 on my 512MB Jasper. Your guide was super helpful. I took to 2 tries to get the wiring right, but now it instaboots and is super stable. So much thanks for your great guide!
@@dasmikko thanks I read that somewhere online 10mhz and without a diode? maybe 27mhz is too much for those with 512mb as video here shows 27mhz for tiny 16mb. Did you use smt resistors and diode? 22k?
@@modbox9560 I've read mixed things about the diode. Some say it's required, others say it works without. Resistor wise, i use regular resistors at 22k ohms.
@@dasmikko So I can't get it to boot xell using diode 4148 and 22k resistor I tried reflashing to 10mhz it just turns off right away can keep repeating but if I flash back ecc 27 it just sits there flashing no display any takes??
Second attempt successful, the first one I killed.during the process. You go through it all very fast ! Thanks for the help, it really helped. Ps: from the first attempt to second attempt the biggest change was that I bought a Weller soldering station. The first attempt was with a cheap Ali Express piece of crap. Thanks Weller.
Thanks for the guide man, today was my first time doing an RGH. I struggled a bit with getting the wire connected to PLL but other than that, was a great process and fun! And to top it off, i got instant boot times! I also changed out the LED's on the RF board to blue. :) Thanks again man
Hi, Fyi you should point it at releases/latest , that way you won't be linking only 3.1.4 Also, run as administrator is no longer required. I have also fixed the high DPI displays bug, the fixed version will be released shortly to auto-update
Great Vid.👍👍👍 I Just strongly do not recommend the "opening like a suitcase" part at 08:08. Be patient, take your time to open it, otherwise you are very likely to break it.
Thanks, but I strongly disagree about the case opening part. I used to do it the "safe" way of going at each clip one by one with a flathead or pry tool but always ended up causing more damage that way. So you're actually less likely to cause damage if you use the method from the video. However, there is a dedicated tool you can use that lets you get all clips at the same time. That's going to be the best option to cause the least amount of damage possible.
I tried the rgh 3.0 hack after creating and writing xell to the nand it killed both my xboxes I've been left with 2 dead xboxes thanks to you and Mario you didn't say after writing xell to nand it needed to be unplugged you didn't mention that so you and him have left me with no xbox at all you haven't covered the hack properly due to col I can't get another THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Ohh man you remind me of the good old times!! Trinitys and coronas were pain in the ass using rgh 2.0 playing with the cable lengths using the glitcher.. 🤣🤣
I have my xbox falcon for about 12 years i never have no problem whit my jtag becouse i see your tutorial , im thinkng to another xbox slim Rgh the processo you have done to you tutorial thanks for you tutorial you rock Yoooo
what a great video, followed your instructions, and wow, i got my xbox rgh, one thing though, for some reason the Xex Menu v1.2 did not work for me, i made sure of creating the folders, formating the usb, but no, i ended up using Xex Menu v1.1 (live) , and that one did work. thanks a lot for the video !
For me, flash nand part was ok. But after, with more soldering, i think it is possible for amateur, but with lots of struggle. :D great job. Very interesting.
picked up a Falcon Xbox 360 recently because of this video, i will follow this video guide and update this comment soon edit 1: just dissasembled my 360. it looked pristine. im still waiting on the parts to arrive tonight edit 2: screwed up. my bad soldering iron caused me to rip one of the pads off during the nand soldering process
Hi ! You dont show anywhere what you do with the diode and the resistor : where they connect, and what is the polarity to use when soldering the diode ?
I recently decided to mod my xbox 360 after seing this video. After I had put the resistor and the diod on the back I went to turn the console on to get the cpu key. I put everything on that was needed and when I pressed the start button everything was going fine until it flashed 3 red lights at me. Is the console completly destroyed or can it still be salvaged.
Great tutorial! You inspired me to learn how to solder. For the Pico, can I just solder on any 30 gauge wire to each of the corresponding points? Or do I need to buy a nand reader cable?
i have this problem: i dumped my nand and tried booting in xell. my xbox wouldnt boot so i reflashed my nand backup and it still didnt boot. so i unsoldered the wires for xell and it booted normally. now i try to detect my xbox to boot xell again and it says "no console found". i resoldered my wires they are clean. and it still says no console found. i even resoldered the wires for xell but still nothing. why isnt it working anymore?
If someone's falcon doesn't want to boot after installing xell, let them install a 10k resistor... mine didn't want to boot with a 22k resistor and with 10k it was insta boot.
It's just a Precision Gold A55KJ Digital Soldering Station. If I was going to buy one now I would most likely go with some sort of Hakko soldering station.
Love your videos! Watched all of them through the years! Can i just send you my xbox and you can mod it for me xD i dont have a soldering iron and not confident i can do it!
Idk if this is the right place to ask this, but is there any other place in the motherboard i can connect the ground wire (yellow wire in the pico diagram at 11:49)? Because that pin just doesnt wanna stick to the solder, all others worked no problem. pls
Another awesome vid tutorial! Got a jasper ready to go. That i replaced broken hdmi socket on. Just wondering... i guess its best to be on the latest xbox 360 os update before performing this? After rgh i guess you can put a bigger hdd than 500gb?
Great video 👍 I’m having a little issue. Installed j runner w extras and installed the drivers for the xflasher as well but when I open jrunner while having xflasher plugged in and set to spi mode it doesn’t show up in jrunner.
So all you need to do for base is reset the consoles doesnt need anything else? What happened to some consoles not being able to do it because of updates ect?
Need some help if you're still online Followed your guide and now I get the flashing Xbox button on the front of the console Nothing shows on the screen Connected up my disk tray and still nothing I've rechecked all my soldiers and wiring and all is correct, bought everything you mentioned and I'm using the xflasher instead of the JProgrammer Help please
