How to S Rank the Moonshine Mob | Cuphead Guide 

A little tip, if you time correctly and you explode a bomb on purpose right when the spider is coming the way the bomb is, if he's near of the explosion it will actually damage him. Like Justo said this also applies for the caterpillar (which the explosion destroy immediately) and also the flys

The cops actually try to help you by shooting at the spider but are too slow and sometimes hit you, they also are on your side when starting the fight

Shooting the tongue in the 3rd phase actually does damage even if it doesnt look like it but it totally does damage, I did a test run where on phase 3 I only damaged the tongue with the charge shot and hitting nothing else other than the dust balls and sure enough, without hitting the mouth, hitting only the tongue got me through that part without having to damage the mouth

4:17 This is actually something that I found super cool. I feel like one of the more rewarding aspects of Cuphead is the fact that the bosses start off feeling very difficult and almost downright unfair at times, but as you keep playing you can notice the little indications and what you need to pay attention to to get the upper hand. It really helps balance the games sense of challenge with its fairness to me.

Fact: the ant cops try to hit the spider but the projectiles are too slow.

3:30, actually in V1.3.2, before V1.3.3 Patch, the pink barrel didn't count as a parry when you parry it, but now with the V1.3.3 Patch Fix it will now count as one (probably chat were referring to that at the time (probably some of them playing on a platform of the game where V1.3.3 patch didn't roll out yet on said platforms))

I always had trouble with finishing the level in under 2 minutes so I normally use chalice, charge, crackshot, and super 1 for this one to speed up the fight. Also, regarding 3:25, the moonshine barrels originally didn't count as a parry, but they fixed it in a patch.

Thank you for helping me beat my favourite boss on S-Rank. I found the crackshot to be better. It deals higher damage than the chaser/is quicker. Even when it's the lock on projectile. Oh and an Ester or Saltbaker guide would be greatly appreciated. They're super difficult for me.

There is an easier way to tell if certain parrys count toward your grade, if they count towards your super meter they add to your grade. Only works if you don't have a full super meter though.

One thing I notice In the first Phase The cops Take aim at the Spider In some rare cases were the shot actually hits it damages the spider Its usefull to dodge and get some parries

A very well-made guide @JustoAllDay, I'll admit! there's only one really problem I found here and that chaser being used here as a secondary weapon sure the others are great like round-a-bout and smoke bomb but I honestly don't find chaser that great, I actually prefer using lobber instead for the last two phases (being the anteater and the snail, I also try using lobber when I can on the 1st and 2nd phase due to lobber's great damage), lobber surprisingly works REALLY well on this fight, since you can just be on the opposite side of where the anteater is and do seem pretty good damage most of the time, and you can even parry the tounge even 2-3 times while at the same time doing damage to the ant eater! as for the snail, I like going on top of the right most platform and use lobber to quickly end the snail in snap. and before you ask, yes, I tested it myself and I once got an A+ with 1:08 with this strat, and once on expert with 1:15 and S rank, I highly suggest people still follow justo's guide here, but I feel like lobber is simply better than chaser for this fight

I agree with you because I think on the where is the anteater’s snout is going to appear and it’s hard because I think if Tongue is going to show up or not because he does that zip with his tongue

On my opinion, Moonshine Mob is the bestest DLC fight, since it has two rejected bosses, a very good song and a cool fight system

in the final phase the ant eater only shoots his tongue on one side at a time. so just stay on the right when his tongue is going on the left. Also Charge shot one shots the Ant ball so just charge the shot and shoot at the tongue and soon as it shoots. you break the ball and hit it with charge.

When I S-Ranked this, I used Roundabout and Twist-up for the shots, I used P.Sugar for charms, and I used Energy beam for super. I also managed to get 1 extra parry right after I knocked out the snail.

You can actually use converge to get rid of the insect ball. It helped me beat it on expert! Can’t wait to see some more streams!

the funny thing about this boss is that i walked right up to it thinking it would be the easiest dlc boss to s rank. oh boy. oh man. took me the second longest next to saltbaker i think? at least i’ll probably use a few tips from here when i inevitability play against them again

The barrels actually used to not count for parry's, but luckily the fixed it in a patch that releases about a week ago.

If you use lobber and aim up some shots will bunch up and the spider can walk into it.

The tongue does take damage, it has the yellow flashes on it when Hit by chalice super 1. (There are flashes on both the snout and the tongue.)

Protip: in the thrid phase, when the tongue appears and it sounds more loudly, it means he will do the attack (that helped me so much personally)

Real quick, the ant cops in phase 1 are actually aiming for the spider, the spider just moves out of the way to where he never gets hit and you can be hurt in the crossfire. I for one think that the player characters are just in the crossfire between the moonshine mob and the ant police.

Next you should do a regular mode guide on how to beat Glumstone the Giant.

when the DLC first dropped the barrels didn't count as parrys, I think it was a glitch because it looks like it's been fixed. But can confirm that on launch the barrels didn't count.... I was so pissed when it gave me an -A

This is the only one I've been able to S rank so far. I find it works much better with Cuphead/Mugman and smoke dash.

So actually I got S Rank on them finally with the charge shot and roundabout, charge shot makes the first and third phases go pretty fast and roundabout makes the second phase a cake walk. I recommend trying out charge shot on the account it instantly defeats the caterpillars in the first phase and the bug balls in the third phase, people who are good with the charge shot should try this method if they're still having trouble In fact I was able to S Rank them again and was able to beat them in 1 minute and 44 seconds, highly recommend you try this strat

Interesting, when I S-ranked moonshine mob I used crackshot and roundabout and smoke bomb so yeah, I had to deal with 3 of the bug balls in phase 3, it sucked

I started the dlc yesterday and after suffering with whinchester (I left it for later) I went to the gnome boss and beat it within 2 attempts and got an A- I guess after so much attempts with whinchester I got better in general somehow

I've been Trying to beat this Excuse of a Boss Fight for the past 20/30 minutes. I searched up How to beat It Him On expert to see if i was doing anything wrong. Now, ill Try the way You Explained. You can damage the tongue in the final phase, I used converge on it on the tongue only and not the nose and it did damage

Things that Count for Parry Requirement: Smoke Ring (Also Damages Charlie Left Legs), Barrel, Anteater Tongue and Soundwave.

In the first phase you can duck under the flies without taking damage

Here’s a little fun fact. The cops in the first phase are actually not shooting at you. They’re shooting at the spider and will damage the spider if the shot hits him.

I was able to S rank all of the bosses except 1, sherrif whenchester. can you do an s rank tutorial on that?

it is better to use 3 super, which will delay the snail for a long time, and if you use charge fire at this time, there will be about 70 or 140 health left to deal with the anteater. (Charge fire- 46 health)

I used the Crackshot for the Spider Mobster and the Snail, while using the Charge Shot for the Light Bug and the Anteater, I even parried the snail's sound waves to ensure I got 3 Parries in and that's how I got the S Rank on the boss. Do not use the Crackshot on the anteater, because it always homes in on his tongue and not his snout. I don't know why, it just does.

If Your Having trouble,you can run these as well! Weapons: Charge Shot-Crackshot Charm-Chalice Super-Super 1 get 2 parrys first stage,roll through the second stage and use the charge to one shot the flying bug balls i phase 3,Easy DPS check for this boss

Charge shot is much better for this boss, it allows you to one-shot the bouncing caterpillar in phase 1 AND the bug cloud in phase 3

Use crack shot and roundabout it is op for phase 2 and maybe 1 when mr worm comes and the goons and phase the crack shot becuase it’s on crack also phase two roundabout is the meta just smoke dash away also parry the tongue by dashing for max chalice and for divine relic like me jump parry

Personally it's the easiest boss for me to srank in the dlc but good guide nonetheless. It's a really fun boss to master.

I find parrying the spider spray things in phase one annoying and difficult and found parrying the ant eater's tounge easy and got up to 3 parries in one tounge reach

If your struggling with time just go the top platform in the middle of the screen, and then aim up with lobber

Definetely try the lobber in the first phase
