Comercial blasting no profile needed really.now to blast at white metal blast you would have to stay aquared and achive your profile and get rid of all mill scale 3 to 4 profile is ideal but that would be for sudmerged .great video
That really just depends what type of profile is needed for the job because sometimes it’s not necessary for the specific job unless is some offshore oilfield equipment going into the ocean. Other than them wanting you to sandblast to white metal, all your doing is wasting sand and time. That was honestly painful to watch, so much sand for something that doesn’t even have paint on it.
You are one of the better blasters I have seen, but I still don’t understand why you all do not use a 3/4” ID whip instead of a 1” ID whip. You would increase your efficiency by at least 25%. This is basic media blasting technique.
For this vessel I was able to blast 3/4 of it all the way around and then I rolled it over and completed the rest of it... did not have any need to climb on top
first of all you NEVER have the fucking hose between your legs. If by chance it was to explode. RIP family jewels. And also the sweeping pattern, takes so much longer, waste of time and fuel. You gotta flail it or do quick circles to sandblast effectively.
@@jh2666 Shit man.. I had the blasting hoe explode on me on multiple occasions. At around 120 PSI and the pot loaded up with steel shot, the explosion sounds like a small bomb going off, and it fucking hurts.. It's MEGA cringe how the guy has it between his legs.. My boss back then would have killed me if I stood that close and did slow sweeps like that lol
Milton Williams just don't fight the hose. I hold it behind my nozzle. And hold with your arm and bend the hose. Really it's up to you to find your technique.
The way to hold the hose is to hold it thru your legs curled in the pocket of your shoulder with you hand just behind the nozzle... you pinch the hose with your thighs and they hold all of the pressure while you are able to keep perfect control of you stroke
I have my deadman about 2-3 feet from the nozzle. I have my deadman in my right hand and nozzle in my left. The angles and positions that I have to be in make holding it with your legs impossible.
Not sure why it’s titled how to sandblast?your not really showing much. Also is this like a spec job? Because if not your just wasting a lot of sand and time and yeah why do you have a 1 1/4 hose, you could use 3/4 and it would be just fine, probably more efficient as well. Some of the parts of the video your blasting all sideways gotta be at a 90 degree angle blast it straight on move to the next don’t jump around spot to spot finish as you go.
