How to sculpt a tail

Epoxy is a two part clay that you mix right before you are ready to use it. It cures chemically and hardens in a few hours. My favorite is Aves Apoxie Sculpt. The tool is an old leather working tool, but you can use whatever is around to get the job done. :-)

It is actually an old leather working tool. You can use whatever you can find though! Even sharpened ends of paintbrushes do a great job.

@chinookstudios my dad some times uses a tool that dentists use, but not for horse stuff!

I used a dremel to take the whole tail off. Before I started sculpting the tail, I set a wire into the horse and covered it with epoxy in the shape I wanted to make a firm base to sculpt off of. :-)

um, can you do this detailed sculpting with normal clay? as in my cousin's play doh that she doesnt use?

in mid f whatching this i was making my tea and doing a repositioning on my type of classic that ur using, he looks more like an Arabian now his nose pushed up and ears moved front left leg pushed forward and his tail lifted and pulled back

No, sorry. If you want to sculpt on model horses and have it last, you need to use epoxy putty. (I like to use Aves Apoxie Sculpt.) Clays at the craft store and Play Doh won't work.

You get the original tail of by breaking it. It usually is esier than having to melt it or saw it.

can u do one on how to sculpt ears?
