The amount of value in your videos is absolutely ridiculous, you are VERY MUCH appreciated sir! Though our mediums may be different (I do photography) your passion, education and information you provide resonates deeply. You have inspired me to break the shackles of the algorithms and post freely 😊 FREE MYSELF! And offer value by educating 👏 Thank you sir!! New subscriber here, and new fan 👏
Love watching your channel for already 3 years now. You don’t know how much it changed my life once I saw it first time back then, and the things I did I thought I could never do because I got braver and inspired, thanks to you. It means really, a lot. Thanks Dries
Thank you. My biggest hurdle is not how to paint, what to paint, etc.; it's talking to people about my painting. It seems imperative to success to speak. Not a fan of it. Worried about expressing my POV, seeming pushy, being a con artist, blah blah blah. Been at this 40 years, pretty knowledgeable about how to paint but the relationship / talking part is beyond me! It is a sad fact this seems to be the reason I live near poverty in a world where many seem to be successful. (I know, just don't worry!) hard to do. Anyhow, thanks again. I listen while I paint and helps with the isolation.
Yes the talking part is indeed a pretty big one. Small steps I would say, keep some recent work on your phone, when a friend asks what have you been up to lately you can show some of your work on there and talk about it in a low level environment. Before you know it you take the next step and the next and the next step. Good luck.

Your videos are fantastic. The amount I learn from them about how to do this thing (selling art) is amazing. I was on the brink of making some major mistakes until I started watching your material. Thank you!
Hello Dries, I’m an emerging artist from Netherlands and I’m trying to figure out what kind of insurers I need to have for my artwork. It’s so frustrating that I can’t find any normal information about it. Maybe you could make some kind of video about this subject also?…I think that would help many people
What’s interesting is that even the top Instagram influencers have only about 10-20% of their followers actually interact with post. So don’t feel bad if you don’t have high interaction. 😊
I'm self-taught and published everything without fear, because I'm unique😄 the way I draw, no one knows how to paint🤣👌 I'm so brave that I created a RU-vid channel where I draw😄
Good tips I myself see other artist who aren't even has good as but they're so confident in what they post I even encourage them keep practicing etc because in reality we all have to start from somewhere anyways good video my guy hope in I'll resort to selling too.
I think this video makes me more clear about what I really want make use of ig; I do not really care about what others like my work or not; I do some simple marketing by hand but whatever the results. The fact is, I think the platform does have its rules which are limiting creators; I dislike seeing a creative and talented artist keep making the same kind of art just for "personal style/brand" while they could have done much more; art techniques and teaching are really valuable but just not for me to create; maybe if one day I like to share something about background making I will do that but just not for more likes or comments, etc. Nor do I care about how many dots on a blank canvas get how many millions of likes, since no matter what it still look just "okay" for me...sometimes I hope artists on ig could do something, use their own accounts and power to shift the rules, instead of just following them for "that's the rule"'s sake. Thanks to this video that I realized maybe what I want at first place is not just business, but something more about my personal beliefs about what art and art practices should be. ♥
Good video👍🏾 and message. Your camera angles are new....I think....Ive seen someone else do that...the front then the side....but they switched so fast it gave me a headache🤣
You mean the second camera angle, yes I'm not totally sure about it... what do you think? Does it give you somewhat of headache? I also think the composition is not entirely good of the second one, my head is way too much on the left... I wasn't paying attention.
I think you transitioned well between the overhead perspective when you show your IG to the front then to the side angle...if you do it to much then it can be a lot...it was done really well between 1:54 and 4 minutes in when you gave yourself about 2 minutes before you switched...i think you spoke a little bit more between the switches. Everything looks really polished....unlike myself🤣 I cant get the wind to not blow my phone over or the dogs to be quiet😳🤪 you've come a long way.
hahaha so basically I was doing it really well when I was not doing it? haha, yes to be honest I don't know if I like that angle too much myself... I also don't really see it being used on RU-vid (probably for a reason) I whish I could get more feedback on it from people
@@driesketels very funny...I liked it ...but....less of it 😆 did that come out right 🤔🤣 Maybe you should do a video with your questions and then people could answer them in comment section or schedule a live with your questions if you had time....idk...Jim Morrison says People Are Strange🤔
Yeah,,, I don’t think I buy your formula-- you’re desperate to sell to the point that your spending way too much time figuring out how to “post” 10 times a day or something…… so perhaps when it’s all over people will say He was a famous poster-- my point is Artists, and I’m using that designation in a very specific sense, are in the main concerned with their art--or should be anyway.
I like the titles but your anxious fast manner of talking triggers my ptsd and causes me too much anxiety to get all the way through any of your videos.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope you are doing well. You can always go in the settings and make the video go slower if you want to. Perhaps this might be a solution.
