Thanks very much! We decided to start putting out videos on all the home theater tips we have learned as a company in the 44 years we have been in business. We have plenty more coming! Thanks for watching
Scott, Thank you for giving away such good info. By giving away all of the information that you and your company proves that Audio Advice is concerned about helping everyone bring up the level of enjoyment with their systems and not just the profits of the company. Again, thank you Scott and Audio Advice team! As far as low frequency set-up, management and control goes - It's like fighting a 500 pound gorilla. I have found that sub position (including height from floor), timing to the other speakers and the audio source (music, movies and tones) makes for quite a battle to find that "happy medium" for best overall low frequency enjoyment. I have had to learn to accept that not all recordings/sound tracks are made equally and trying to adjust for each piece of media is an endless maze. I'm hoping to find the best average soon so I might and I mean might be able finally sit down and enjoy the system.
Absolutely Wonderful Information Scott. I just got my 2nd SVS SB-4000 and along with The AVM70, which yet to be calibrate. I guess I have a ton of work ahead. 😉 Truly Appreciate All of Your Content. Thanks a million to Audio Adice👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Thanks for the great tutorial guys! One question, my I have a Polk sub connected to a Denon via LFE. The sub only has a crossover pass turning knob (40-160) but there is now way to bypass. Do I turn the knob to 80 of 160? 3:38
Question: I just purchased Anthem's MRX1140 and Klipsch Forte iv's from Audio Advice. I'm running 2.2 with dual svs sb3000's. Should I cross over with 10hz overlap between main speakers and subs with 24 octave slope? What would you recommend for crossing over this setup?
Josh- thanks for your support of Audio Advice, that is a great setup! Great question- you should probably try between 80-40Hz in 10 Hz increments. Probably no overlap, and use the 24dB slope. Be sure and run the SVS sub calibration before Anthem ARC.
Totally unorthodox, but I want to use by car subwoofers for my home theater system. I have x2 12'' subs with a rockford amp. How should I go about setting this up regarding calibration? Are there any external devices I could use?
Yes, we have virtually zero knowledge on car audio components. You'll need a way to power the amp and get the audio into it, then everything else should be similar in terms of set up.
Hello! Great video! I Have a Yamaha Rx- A1080 Receiver with Dual Svs Sb-2000 pros, The Yamaha has 2 Sub outputs but I ran 1 interconnect from Output #1 to Input (LFE ) then Out from Sub to Input (LFE). My Question is that when I'm calibrating with YPAO or any manual calibrations, are both Subs Calibrating with Receiver?
I always assumed that the AV Receivers Calibration software such as Audassy did all this automatically? You simply just place the microphone in your sitting position and let it do the calibration? Then sit and enjoy the movie?
They are pretty automatic these days, but we find most get the distances off by quite a bit and its best to go in and adjust those, and not everyone has a receiver with room correction, especially people using subwoofers in a 2 channel system. Thanks for watching
Ok, you say with a test tone all speakers should be set at 75db? What volume level should the receiver be set at in order to then set the speakers to 75db
Great question! Let's have a quick conversation about your setup. Please feel free to reach out to one of our surround sound experts in chat at audioadvice.io/aa-chat so we can help you sort out the best answer. Thanks for watching!
If it does not have a bypass input, you should just set your main speakers to cross over at 80 Hz and set the subwoofer crossover to 80 Hz. Thanks for watching
That would have two crossovers in a row which will cause loses or gaps in the bass response. Instead, set the subwoofer dial to its highest crossover and set the speakers to 80hz crossover. This will make your bass sound accurate and punchy!
I do have a phase Control it goes down as low as 40 and it goes past that I think thats zero and I have the volume control on the subwoofer to 12 o’clock thank you for your advice on your RU-vid channel it’s very educational I just had a brain fart I think I figured it out lol
@@CMSKA1 That actually sounds more like your crossover control. Usually phase controls are either 0 or 180 or a range in between. Hope this helps, glad you enjoy our videos!
@@AudioAdvice i’m sorry I’m looking behind the subwoofer right now and it’s a low pass crossover Control it goes up to 150 The subwoofer is definitive technology pro sub 600
