We can extend the muscle in a lengthened or shortened position, therefore I explain how to wrap your mind around this so that you can set up your perfect session and hit the glute muscles from all different angles.

3 ways to hit glutes:
SHORTENED
- Kickbacks (shown in this video)
- KAS hip thrust (shown in this video)
- hip thrusts
- Hyper extensions (shown in this video)
- Glute bridges
- cable pull through
LENGTHENED:
- RDLs (shown in this video)
- BSS (shown in this video)
- Step-ups (shown in this video)
- Walking lunges
- Deadlift
- Squats

-Abductor
-Medius kickbacks

I truly love your content, how clear you explain things and how genuine and balanced your advice is! My feedback for this video is that it didn't hit the "how to set up a glute session" as well as the description of it did. It was a great explanation of what the lengthened and shortened positions are and how certain exercises target certain glute muscles, but only watching the video didn't help me setting up a glute session - it was the last thing you said- "pick one of each from this list" made it an "aha! moment". I hope this is a helpful feedback!

Can I use a step platform instead of the plates? Also they type of hip abductor you did with stepping onto the plates is this better than the traditional hip abductor on the cable machine? Thank you

I hate working my glutes. I have African ancestry and they just tend to get huge with the slightest exercise. Fell in love with ice hockey goaltending in 2019, and found out really fast that I need those and quads to get up off the ice with 50lbs of gear on-unless I want everyone else helping me up like a little old lady. 😳😂
