In this video I show you how to setup the tarp tent. For this demonstration I am using a 9x9 oilskin tarp. This is the second upload of this video. The first had an editing error where I forgot to show how to stake out the front. So here is the correct video.

Interested to learn what your criteria are for deciding what direction to lay down the tarp in the first place

It all depends on what shelter you are wanting to setup. But basically you want your ridgeline loops to be located in a way that they will benefit your shelter. As in helping with tensioning the tarp or pulling the tarp out to create more space. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching, take care my friend.
