On this channel I will be sharing with you my own personal experiences in the great outdoors. I will share how I go about doing things like fire making, shelter building, and cooking. I will show different pieces of kit and how to use them, how to identify different plants and trees and what they are good for. We will go hiking and camping, and just have a good time with getting out there. So come along for the ride.
I built this last night at my camp site! Thanks for the how to! It kept my swag dry for the most part. There were trees but too far apart for a Ridgeline so this Baker Tent was a great alternative to an A Frame. Thanks again for the easy to follow directions.
The Holden is what I've always used. I just recently bought my first 10x10 nylon tarp with 19 attachment points and intend to learn some more setups. I dont have much time left. Im 72 and have had six heart attacks. The docs say i dont have much time left but i dont intend to die in bed. I bought a second tarp with only eight grommets. I also bought a bag of 20 tarp clips. I should be able to do just about any configuration my old noggin can comprehend. These vids demonstrate many of the ones I'm interested in. Thanks much. I have used a 6x8 tarp in a holden configuration and had plenty of room for sleeping. A 5x7 emergency tarp is a tad small for that so my "emergency" tarp is a 6x8 poly tarp. I just cant get along with a 5x7 lean-to or plough point.
The Holden is a great shelter option. I hope these videos can help give you some ideas. Sounds like you will have some fun playing around with different configurations. I like your attitude, live life to fullest and enjoy yourself. Thank you for being here and please take care of yourself my friend.
Actually it's a Adirondack Shelter. A Baker's Tent, will be like a lean-to with sides and a squared awning. Still an outstanding shelter though. Good morning from the Great State of Texas. I watched this video again. That meal would keep me warm for two days. Do to my stomach issues I would have to leave out a lot of the extra heat. Thanks for sharing
I've noticed over the years I can no longer handle the hot stuff. The hottest I can handle now without painful heartburn is the Carolina Reaper pepper. Thanks for watching, take care my friend.
It really does depend on the conditions. Things like rain and wind play a big part. But give a plow point a try with your 8x8. I think you'll like it. I have videos showing how to set it up if you aren't sure. Thanks for watching, take care my friend.
Video never does the experience justice. We had such a great day, I was really glad we were able to share it with my Dad. Thanks for watching, I'll see ya this winter.
Yeah, I used to hunt Maryland all the time years ago. But I let work take over, now that she wants to hunt I figured I'd head back there again. Thanks for watching, and I'll see ya this winter.
They are Helinox chairs. I absolutley love them, my favorite is the black one. The high back chair squeezes my legs together. Thanks for watching, happy hiking my friend.
I smoke a pipe myself and so does a friend. He says that when he's on his deer stand he lights a bowl of vanilla cavendish and gets ready. He says the scent of vanilla seems to call in the deer. All I know is that a bowl of 1Q and mug of hot black coffee does the job of helping me to relax.
Haha, I'll have to give that a try this deer season. My favorite smoke right now is Blood Red Moon from Cult. Thanks for watching, take care my friend.
It was the first time I’ve heard an elk bugle in person, it was pretty awesome. The next time I go up there I’m taking my big camera. That way I can zoom in on those awesome animals. Thank you for being a friend, ( you gotta sing it ) haha. See ya soon man.
saw a cool variation on the truckers hitch from another channel, instead of feeding the whole line through the hoop, feed a bite through, then make another bite on that bite.... now you can sinch down without having to pinch and it's super quick release. nice vid!
Brian nice video with your little guy both of you will talk for years about his first time real camping. You're never forget about the good time you spent together and the rattler you guys saw. Thanks for sharing 😃
