I had friends that made this quilt together 20 years ago and have wanted to make one ever since then. Your color palette may be the inspiration for me to finally tackle it. Fabric selection is so key for this pattern and you nailed it. This is a gorgeous quilt.
Wonderful pattern. I made one about 35 years ago before strip piecing was a thing to do, so there was no wasting of fabric. I’m 76 years old now and have wanted to make another one. I press all my seams open and leave them open and have never had any issues with quilting and find my seams are always flat. Beautiful colors on this one. Nice job.
Karen Montgomery teaches to press open first, then to one side - just as Lori does here. I have noticed a significant improvement in my piecing and blocks since I started doing this. It’s and extra step that pays off…
this has come together beautifully ,amazingly bursting with colour and great vibes.i would love to see this on my bed anytime! what a wonderful quilt you have made.
Wow I have heard so much about this nine patch. You tutorial was absolutely amazing. You certainly have an eye for colours. Such perfect choice. I love it and many thanks, I may get to make one some day ❤
Such a beautiful quilt. My fourth grandchild is expected in October and it will be the first girl. Of course, I have sewn quilts for all of them and maybe there will be one like this for the little girl🥰 Thank you from a small town in northern Sweden!
I made this video while I was making my latest Queen sized Blooming Nine Patch in a tropical palette. (I'm a better sewer than videographer!) It is my newest kit available at www.allaboutcolorquilting.com/shop/All-Quilt-Kits.htm
What fabric collection did you use? I like the square look on your quilt verses all the rectangle ones I have seen. Is there a pattern that gives the fabric quantities for your quilt? It turned out stunning.
