ive made a zip pouch like that way but Ive never used a lining or quilted one before. This will be a good way to add some personality to the boxed zipper pouch. you've made a nice denim boxed zip pouch and one that's good for travel. Thats a nice job you did!

I did it! OMGosh I am sucha beginner and you REALLY were easy to follow. THANK YOU! I made one mistake in that my tab was a little off center, it must have shifted while I was machine sewing over it. I learned LIKE YOU SAID, it's really important to secure that centered just right.

I had given up on the WONDER TAPE,I used it once and it saved me so much time. The second time it zipper would fall away from the fabric b4 I reached the sewing machine, so I gave up. But I just learned from you to hear set it, now I'm anxious to use it again.Thank you!

I LOVE that you use wonder tape on your zippers! I've watched a ton of bag construction videos and most of them are anti wonder tape and pro pinning or clipping. The wonder tape is so much easier for me. It makes me happy that you use it!

If I want to put a monogram on one side after doing the quilting how do I know where to place the monogram so when the bag is finished it is centered on the side? Loving your tutorials!

I love the box corners. Since 2009 it has been illegal to use single use cloth shopping bags. My son, who is 19, has tshirts he's outgrown but doesn't want to part with and asks me to turn them into shopping bags. Easy. Cut off and hem the sleeves, deepen and hem the neckline and join the bottom. I always add the box corners to make it look a little more classy. I say classy but can you really call super hero tshirt bags classy? PS - Mr19 loves them.

why don't you just use one piece of fabric 13 x 18 instead of two pieces 13 X 9? You won't be able to top stitch the zipper but it will save doing the long seams. Great video, I am glad I found you.

Looks great. Having the pieces with the measurements on screen so that I could pause it and right them down would be a bit helpful for guys like me who don't write fast. Going to make this in black faux leather with red/black buffalo plaid in the lining.

If you fold the "wonder tape" under (sticky to sticky) on the cut end, then the paper will come right up without the fight.

I just finished a box pouch for my hairdresser, so my husband asked for one of a certain size. (12t x 6h x 3w) How do I change the pattern to change the size? I started one (12.5 x 9) but haven't boxed it yet. Suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Why isn't the lining quilted to the fleece and top fabric? I would think this would work well with making more room in the interior and save several steps?? New to quilting, sorry if this is a dumb question. :)

Is this a metal zipper? I’m confused because it’s so hard to get metal zippers now days, but wouldn’t high heat ruin a nylon zipper?

I've used that tape a couple of times; maybe they've changed it since the 1970s, but every time I used it, it gummed up my sewing machine needle, which in turn made a gummed up mess of thread in the bobbin case, and cost me a half hour of trying to get it put back to rights! I gave up in favor of pin basting.

Okay.. but do I prewash the fabric? I'm not sure I'll ever need to wash the finished product but I might.. Picked up some of this wonder tape because I have been terrified of zippers but you make it look so easy!
