Been watching your vidoes some time. Thank you for all your help. My neckpain is getting better with your good tips. You have helped more than my fysiotherapist! THANK YOU!
Thank you for the great information. I have all the symptoms you are describing ( tinnitus, headaches, TMJ, back of the skull spasms ) and had no idea there were all related to the cervical spondylosis. My physicians did not make then connection either.
@@likhandas4024 ihave dizziness and nausea and then it makes me vomit like the exorsist where ever i am.the only thing that helps me is lying on my my back for some 15min,, nausea and dizziness you are pinching that nerve ,also ice also helps me
Hi Doc! GREAT video. I have had neck pain all my life. Two years ago, I had a 3 level ACDF. It has helped me tremendously. Of course, I still suffer, but I am no longer falling down! Thanks for all of your wonderful tips. I will be using many of them in my search for added relief. I agree with you that a great pillow and mattress is mandatory. I use a buckwheat pillow and I would fight someone if they tried to steal it from me. 😂
You have answered so many of the things that I have struggled with. The advice on the pillows was the best, I have many pillows I have tried now I see why many of them are wrong. I will seek out the right one now. You are open and informative, but most of all you actually care and your help is so very appreciated. Thank you will keep watching.
So very true. We're truly grateful to you for what you're doing doctor. It is so very useful and helpful for people suffering in pain. These are like an elixir. So informative, gives the critically needed background and understanding of the problem at hand (which otherwise gets oblivion), and your explanation, causes/symptoms and the solutions to it is all one GREAT HEALING package. God bless you and your dear ones. May your tribe increase. Deep gratitude, respect and love.

thanks doc!! I can't believe that I had messaged you about this just a couple of days ago, and you prepared such a great video segment so quickly. thank you so much. this was very helpful.
I have to try and sleep on my back and right side for most of the night but still have to switch to my left from time to time . . . such broken sleep for years and years. I basically have a few naps for my sleep. I have multiple issues, that being said, I appreciate your videos very much as they have helped me in many ways, and for many conditions.
Thank you for your informative videos! You are excellent at sharing how to address so many ailments we have. I just started going to a therapist for my neck issues. He was good in that he showed me the skull in the back and where my problems stem from. Im sure it’s from looking down at my computer over the years. Like so many Im still in search for the Perfect pillow😢 I’ll check out the bamboo pillow you showed. I also have apnea and cannot get used to all that paraphernalia on my head. If you have any tips on apnea I would really appreciate anything you can recommend. Thank you again for the time you spend offering your extensive advise. 👏👏👏👏
I have cervical spondylosis & bulging C-5/6, & a good bit of neck arthritis. I have a buckwheat hull pillow (similar to the bamboo mentioned), with a zipper so can add/remove some hulls to my level of comfort. I ordered a medium-sized but it's as big & heavy as a 3 year old toddler lol (I named it George haha)...So.. I ordered a set of zipper travel pillowcases (which are fairly small), & I added my preferred level of the hulls, (be sure to also use an outer "regular" pillowcase to wash with your sheets), this is my pillow. I'm keeping George (which still has plenty of hulls!) to refill as needed because the hulls do eventually deteriorate from use. I adjust it to fit my neck & head, I'm usually a back sleeper but will turn on my side at times & this works perfectly for both. Also, I made myself two "heaties" (my term), made from an old t-shirt (very comfy material!), they are rectangular pillows about 5"×13" I sewed, left a filler slot & filled with regular grain rice (can also add some lavender and other dried plants/herbs for a nice scent), not packed totally full, so they are adjustable/maneuverable, then finished by sewing up/closing the slot . I heat them in the microwave (don't overheat, usually 2-4 minutes is enough, depends on size & density but test for your comfort level, just don't burn them up!), after heating, I turn them back & forth to distribute the heated rice equally, wrap them/roll them up in pillowcases to provide insulation & protection from any burns, plus be able to wash this outer cover. Then I can place them wherever it hurts without risk of burning myself or electrical shock, better than a heating pad & the insulation keeps them warm all night. They're like my little buddies, keeping me snuggly warm & comforting all the hurting places, including my neck on especially painful nights. GREAT for winter, too, as well as kids tummyaches (use caution, never overheat!).
I have C3 to C7 Degeneration (Spondylosis) I have actually found sleeping without any pillow or head-prop to be very beneficial. I've tried the Face-down type, the "U" Shaped (Just under & cradling my neck) & tempurpedic. Nothing worked better than NO PILLOW or SUPPORT whatsoever. It's counterintuitive but maybe we are simply socialised to think we need pillows.
Thank you Dr Mandela, I think you are great, straight to the point. I have a bulging disc in my neck and have been in severe pain last two days, thanks for the ice pack hack.
I have this and unfortunately the tyre for me finally blew (yes I watched that episode too) I have a large disc bulge and nerve root impengment at C7 with spinal cord abutment. It is the worse pain I have ever felt in my life, with the left arm feeling like its slowly dying, constant deep pain and muscle twitching/spasms throughout the shoulder, arm, hand and thumb and first finger. Trying to manage it myself as the wait list is insane to see a specialist over here in Oz. So very grateful for all the tips and correct education you offer us. It has inpowered me to stop being depressed about the pain and start overcoming it and being pro active in fixing it. Thank you 👌🤗
ITS REALLY BAD TO SEE SO MANY LIKES FOR IDEAT VIDEOS POSTED ON RU-vid AND JUST FEW LIKES FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO DR MANDEL PERSONALLY CLARIFIES OUR PROBLEM SO NICELY THAT A PAID PHYSIOTHERAPIST ALSO DOES NOT DO FOR US AND ON TOP OF THAT I WANT TO PERSONALLY MEET THOSE 61 DISLIKE PEOPLE ....LODS OF LOVE FROM INDIA SIR...
Thank you for your informative video . I do have a annoying neck from a bike accident at age 9 , and also from a gym injury around the same age , really damaged my neck
I purchased a butterfly pillow and I love it. No matter how I use it I get relief and love that my airways are clearly open. I also have a problem with what do I do with my arms and this pillow is great because it has several ways to address the issues. I had numbness and tingling when I was sleeping on it. I am definitely going to buy another.
Please consider linking the products you are referring to like the pillows. It would be nice to find the specific things you mention. Love your videos!
I sleep on my side as it's more comfortable...being careful that my arthritis hips/ knees don't touch. This way does not seem to affect my cervical spondylitis that much either. But any twists to the neck could start of carotid problems which would then affect my body causing blackouts in getting up quickly to fainting, dizziness and falls...etc which are all part of cervical spondylitis anyway 😊
Hi Doc, love all your advice and tips. Is there anything else as regards to creaking noises in the cervical spine on every movement. Have longstanding neck probs ‘DJD’ with a range of symptoms. Further advice on this will be much appreciated. Thank you 😊
