I played the isle when it first came out in early development. It’s changed so much. So much more balanced and the dinosaurs look like something you could actually see walking around in real life. Not just a remake of Jurassic park
4:45 - sub rex and allo have basically the same amount of stamina, only a couple seconds difference. but when trotting, walking or sitting allo regens stamina much quicker so it works out you having more stamina
when i come home from a really bad day at school and i get to just sit here and watch one of my most favourite youtubers play a dinosaur game i am so happy :)
I always just kinda traded on the first bite then rode them afterwards, always seemed to work just as well getting hit as little as possible, but can see how it can turn against you. Nice strat Sticky

This is the matchup I've waited for a while to see! Super keen to fight another sub rex as allo, my first and last time I died and it was at night which was disappointing haha. Very good strat, I need to be more patient.
Just do the ambush trick on the sub and ride the tip of the tail so when it stops u dont slide into its mouth..all i play is allo and ive never done what sticky did in this video although its awesome i have literally soloed more subrex than anything else in the game ive killed 5 in the last week n a half
So use the allo ambush trick and also as a adult allo if u tap shift when ur feet hit the ground u dont really loose stamina and a gigga or anything cant run u down

@@StickyUtah - maybe it's inglorious or not engaging content, but I think there's some skills to be learned about how to run away from a fight that's not a good matchup for your dino and evade being hunted.
@@lilac-ry6hv Any respectable ANYthing main would tell you that u shouldn't attempt to ride a dino that has no slide, while you yourself have a long slide, as that makes it extremely easy for your opponent to brake check you, and kill you, without breaking a sweat.
Sorry...At least not all allos will try this tho, some (like the lilac commenter above) will try to "ride" you or go into a turn fight with you, which will make it relatively easy for you to kill those allos

Yay I’m glad u finally did this fight :D idk if it’s because of my constant requests and tips in the comments lol but I’m glad u did it, great vid. (Btw allo and sub Rex have the same stamina pool, and allo ambush is faster but barely, and sub rexes lasts longer so if you’re not careful enough a sub rex could catch u, make sure u run away in a straight line)
WOW, I so rarely play Allo I had no idea hp regen was *that* fast. I have heard everyone say its great, but watching you go from 3rd to 2nd (and you were at least on mid-late 3rd with the ongoing bleed and your running) shocked me. Time to give Allo another try.
@John Mellan I have a horrible tendency to cling to my most polished skill-sets when it comes to dinos. Essentially it makes me decent at what I play most often, but rusty at everything else. It also leaves me with holes in my defense strategy for defending against those dinos that I rarely play. One of the reasons Sticky is as good of a tactician as he is, is because he plays *all* of the dinos.
can anybody tell me how did you export videos from replays to local pc , i wanted to make a video but could not export or should i use any other screen recoder to record the replays
Was full, and double bites are very difficult to execute when 2 fast dinos go through each other, because they're on top of each other only for a split second
@@StickyUtah yeah you are right, but the thing is you stayed put to land your double, so the rex could take advantage and land his, i know alos bite is faster but the rex could still have tried ;-; but It is indeed Very hard to land doubles when moving. And dont get me wrong, you player that perfectly, gg to both of you :)

Sticky, you may not see this but. How do I kill tail riding utahs because break check won't work and there's only a small chance I hit them. What to do???
This video really came in handy when I was on The Dry Reef server yesterday and some Sub Rex tried to jack me while I was getting water at night. Let’s just say I made him regret that decision. 😬
You could use the bleed regen glitch we learned about last night? Would make you heal at lot faster, also thx for letting me know how to fight sub rexes :)
@@billtommpson1630 Me and sticky tried smthg where if u stand and sit right before the tick of heal (every 1 minute) then it will still heal even if you walk inbetween the ticks
I'm pretty sure this sub rex didn't play it well. if it was me I would have never chased you down this much, knowing how dangerous is allo's bleed. nice video though!
@@lilac-ry6hv exactly. In my experience with sub rex v Allo (I was always the Allo), you NEVER let the sub rex get behind you, otherwise you will most likely die
well, you can consider this video as a "guide" or a simple experiment, he also wasn't really concentrating on the fight but on explaining what he was actually doing. I'm aware that he could have fought better and that he got lucky that the sub rex was bad. I can tell that I didn't agree with what he explained 'cause I never fought a sub rex like that as allo because my priority is always to get behind it thanks to allo's ambush speed, but I guess that people don't always use the same tactic. the actual game is not really based on skills (in my opinion, before I get insulted or attacked) but on luck because of the random hitbox and delay. you obviously need some skills but sadly that's not the main stuff required on the isle. besides all of this, I think that sticky is a very good player, but he usually doesn't meet good fighters and I'm not really glad when he says "this guy is playing smart" when it's obvious they aren't, so most of his fights don't result very helpful, but some of his explanations are.
@@lilac-ry6hv they're not helpful to me, but to who doesn't know the matchups. I'm not the best player of the isle but I know how to fight and how to survive, I don't need someone to tell me how to fight vs anything. I just like watching his videos 'cause they're somehow relaxing. they also might be useful to people that don't even know the basics. and you still can't deny that he still is a good player. not the best, but he's very good. people with that calm and patience can only be good in my opinion
Sub Rex takes 5 seconds to charge up for an ambush, while Allo takes 4. Sub Rex Ambush lasts for 3 seconds longer and is a little more than 6kmh faster than allo Sprint. How many bites did you get though? I only counted two bites. But from 2 Allo bites a full sub rex would of had over 7 minutes worth of sprint time before bleeding out. But only 3 minutes with with a third bite.
it is extremely difficult to kill a sucho as an allo... allo has so much stacked against it, what with it being so much weaker (7 bites from a sucho to kill an allo vs 16 bites from an allo to kill a sucho). The only way it can win is if it bleeds out the sucho.
@@StickyUtah well, most times I've ridden a sub rex its worked fine. A friend of mine does that all the time, and 9 times out of 10 wins the fight. All while riding the sub rex. Just Have to compensate for the stutter step.

As a sub rex main my solution against all the Allos that watched that video : Land a double bite and run after the allo till it bleed out, it dont get much easier 👌
I think this is not correct info. I have seen experiment in a twitch channel where admins made it between full grow Allo and full grow sub rex. And Rex was faster for great surprise to GrimXD. You have to try it maybe you will prove me wrong and I would be happy because I play Allo 🤪
