Very considerate of you Rodica. Honestly there is no way for me to know exactly what to recommend due to I dont know how thick/sound proof your walls or ceiling are in your complex. Also it will depend on your layout. Are your neighbors beside of you or up/downstairs from you? First of all start with the room farthest from your neighbor if they are beside you. Also consider going 2.5 inch on your foam.....you might be able to skimp with 2 inch or even 1.5.....but the price difference probably is not worth it. I have some links in my description area for foam that I would recommend. Make sure you do at least 3 of the walls in the room.....example side wall, side wall, ceiling. You dont want to have anything to allow the sound to bounce off of. Dont waste your time with 1 inch foam.....it wont do much as far as sound reduction. But again I dont know how much insulation your appartment has. If you know your neighbor well you could ask to listen as you had a friend play the violin and see just how much you needed to reduce. You may in fact not need much at all. GL

@@MrBrad777c It's my neighbors above me , who are old and look a lot like Walter (Jeff Dunham). And I can hear when they drop something, or the phone ringing, even TV, but not so loud. So the walls are thin, I think. I've been thinking I should put at first a layer of white thick polystyrene, and then the 3 cm foam. I guess this will work. Thank you for your response.

@@rodicaboldorea6365 Ahhhh.....they are above you. Well on a positive note most older folks have less hearing.....so they probably have their tv up fairly loud and its not bothering you. Yes a good solid layer of the polystyrene a good idea. I assume you mean 3 INCH....not 3 cm.....but yes that should do the trick. But remember you will need to do the walls and ceiling. GL

Thanks for watching and for the kind words! Yes I put them on both sides and noticed a difference for sure. I also would highly recommend the acoustic foam (I put links in my description) if you have something as loud as drums. Very considerate of you. I always wanted to play the drums as a kid......used to get those toy drum sets for Christmas and beat them to death.....but never pursued it and honestly have zero rhythm. My only real skill is card throwing....current world record for being able to throw a playing card from half court and make a basket. I dabbled in others like ball spinning, juggling, etc....but havent done any of it in years other than for my nieces. Honestly I already left that appartment....finally saved up and bought a house. However I personally just left it on there and my Landlord did not charge me anything. I would GUESS it could cause you to need to do some touch up painting? Now thats if you just ripped it off. I would suggest taking a heat gun or hair dryer.....when removing.....heating it up really good.....and it should just easily come off. You could test this on another surface before applying if its something your concerned about. If your just putting on the bottom of the door on both sides....I cant imagine a Landlord having a problem with that....you could even ask them before applying. GL

Sorry to hear about your LOUD neighbors. One thing to consider is, of course, waiting until they are VERY loud....and calling the police. Just make sure your anonymity is ensured. Do this enough and they might stop. You can TRY deadening the wall facing them. You can use acoustic panels from amazon....links in my description. You can also make your own deadening panels. Below is a tutorial that might be of help. Another idea would be to send them a letter in the mail requesting that they lower their sound or you will begin calling the cops. Just make SURE you dont put your correct return address.....do NOT threaten them other than for calling the cops....and make sure its typed and not handwritten. This could scare the neighbor into submitting to your will without having to personally confront them. It may not work tho....some people are just unbelievably loud with partying going on at all hours of the day. You can also buy expensive soundproof covers for windows.....but they are like 300 to 500 bucks. Not sure your spending budget or how bad you want it. GL

Not on the outside. You build or buy something that inserts INSIDE the window frame. Basically something you could remove if needed. That video I linked in my last comment shows how to MAKE one. Well you could TRY these on your windows....and remember the other product I showed for the back crease of my door.....its in my descrption....those are probably BEST for windows. However if you REALLY want to make your window sound proof....I would suggest the following. Find a piece of sturdy white foam board.....the size of your full window....so that if pressed against it would cover your entire window. Then purchase the acoustical foam I link in my description.....and GLUE it to the foam board. If you do it right the accoustical panels will stick slightly over the edge of the foam.....making it so when you push it in....it will hold it in place. You can remove the foam board easily if you need to look out the window. Now this will also block out all light....making the room very dark. This should do wonders. I would do the small black trim or the white....then make this foam insert.....and it should work very well for you. I would if it was ANY sort of difficult. You simply cut to fit your size and remove the adhesive tape on the back....stick er on the door. Just take your time. No way to mess it up.
