Very good round table discussion ladies. I will be visiting Dumaguete later this year and my logic is the same as you guys.....I stay away from dating sights and apps. My plan is to mingle with the locals and play some music with the local bands and ex pats. I do not drink or smoke but I do prefer traditional morena filipinas. I am very aware of higher energy people because I am one myself.....when I get there I have no expectations except immerse myself in the culture as I did 35 years ago when I was in country.

I agree with Maya. Plus alcohol is legal, so being addicted to it is a life long battle. Many people, male and female get violent on alcohol. I know from experience, I had 2 gf that were alcoholics and they were very violent when drunk. In addition, if your spouse goes out and gets drunk all the time, eventually they will cheat. One day they'll not come home. My son's mom became addicted to drugs and alcohol 2 months after my son was a s born and our relationship was a disaster. She left us when my son was 16 months old and I raised him by myself. Drugs and alcohol were more important to her than our son and she left with another guy. She had 3 more kids and did the same thing with 2 of them. The 3rd died from crack cocaine addiction. She went to jail for about a year for that. But she finally found her soul mate, a drug dealer. I will say, I enjoyed raising my son.

I am trying to learn as much as I can while I am here in the States. It struck a nerve when you mentioned there are guys that are not interested in a girl who changes their hair color or have tattoos. It is the woman's hair, meaning it is up to her. Most people with tattoos have them for a reason. Find out what they are for. I agree with the statements about alcohol. I hear Philippinas enjoy karaoke. If true, then you need to see what they are drinking. It might be water. Basically, you are all correct. Get to the Philippines before making decisions. I have to single out Maya, for nailing it, when she said, “alcohol is the most dangerous drug.” It’s addictive, like all of the other drugs out there, and many people are not aware, that alcohol is actually labeled as a “depressant.” It starts off as a high, we are the life of the party, we “think” we make everybody laugh, and we’re great dancers. But then, if they’ve drank too much, they become a different person, when they come down from that high. Now, here comes a funny part about Filipina vloggers. The Philippines is “THE” social media capital of the world, which is a well-known fact. When you combine “that”, with Filipina women, it spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E, lol. Sorry Maya, but Gio said on one of his recent videos about meeting good Filipinas, he wouldn’t recommend dating a Filipina vlogger, 😎😉👍🏼. Oops, haha, 🤭. Leah…..Great video that I believe touches an a lot of what people think about when relocating. The relationships you have whether intimate or platonic can leave a lasting impression. There are red flags on both sides, (men and women). Mostly spot on. You did miss the mark with the province vs city girl question. Men fleeing the West are in large part fleeing Western feminism. We want women who aren't men, and the more exposure a woman has to feminism, the more manly they become. That's why traditional women are so popular among expats, and the most likely place to find traditional women is in the province.

I don't worry about died hair. But if a woman is loaded with tattoos, I'm not into that at all. I don't have any tattoos myself. I just don't know of anything I want on my body forever.

I absolutely love SHAY. I have been a sub of hers since the beginning of her channel, or close to it. Maya, for a while and recently with Leah. These three women are the epitome of classy, smart, and beautiful Filipinas. I think dating sites arent worth the time or money.

I think people who get tattoos always think they are fine, but unless very small I find it a major red flag, and won't even ask a girl out with large tattoos or on their chest (even if small)

Concerning dating apps, these are run by businesses, not charities, they exist in order to make money - it is not in their interest to match up two people who quickly become exclusive and delete the app. The whole purpose of the apps are to keep you single and using the apps including upselling to a higher paid VIP tier. I have never and will never use a dating app - I also believe that there is a far greater risk of men encountering gold digger/scammers or for women encountering non-committal f boy players. I don't see any positives in finding a good partner using an app (maybe happens in less than 1% of all cases).

A province girl will typically retain some of the characteristics of a classic filipina demeanor due to less time invested in social media. Times they are a changing, and quickly. .

Men and women aren't equal. It shouldn't be a red flag if a foreigner has sleep with a lot of Filipina or other women. A mans value increases, but a woman's value decreases. Now if he is intentionally sleeping with a lot of women without seriously searching for a companion, then I would say that is a red flag when it comes to choosing him as a husband. No matter how you try to twist things to compare men and women, we will NEVER be equal.

If he is wary of competition, he might not want someone who has hundreds or possibly thousands of admirers.
