Paul, yet another excellent tutorial. I ONLY use ump primer and i love the stuff. Excellent finish every time. Never had any issues with it or any of your products for that matter. I even mix the primers together to create different shades of grey etc. Usually sprayed through a 0.35mm and 0.4mm needle at around 25-30 psi. I know you don't need to use thinners with it but i sometimes do and it sprays beautifully. Just make sure to give it a really good shake. Thanks again buddy. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks for the tutorial. I have been reluctant to buy and try but had some in a recent eBay job lot. Just watched this and tried the grey primer. Worked fab. No issues Used my harder steenbeck ultra with 0.4mm needle about 28 psi and results are almost flawless. If I was better at spraying it would be even better. More than happy with the results and when I need more I will definitely be buying more. And would definitely recommend the priner

I am at my second bottle of Stynylrez, the blue one. 0.35 nozzle, 15 psi, 24-26°C, 50-70% humidity: not even a hint of trouble! More over, although it might seem a bit soft after curing, it takes the sanding beautifully. I am more than pleased so far.

Another great tutorial to add to so many others you’ve done, thanks Paul. You’ve also answered a query I was going to research on and that is what precautions will I need to take spraying in very hot and humid climates (I’m in Singapore). I do have an aircon unit in my room so I can keep the temperature down a bit but the humidity is still a very big issue. Any other advice on coping with hot and humid conditions warmly (!) received. Thanks!

I just got my ultimate thinner, and finally got use the stynelrez. I can’t get it right. I keep getting chunky bits coming out and splattering on my air brush. I spat at 35 psi. Thin 50/50ish with ump thinner. I think the paint is drying in the cup. And I use my .5 trigger gun. I’m guna try the thinner coats with a .3 mm air brush. See if that fixes it.

Paul, another excellent video. But I do have a few questions. Being a car modeler, I nearly always use Gravity ,Zero, or MCW paints, which are pre-thinned, and are basically as thin as water. They each have their own primers which are as thin as their paints. When I learned how to use an air brush way back in the 1970s using Tamiya paints & primers , they were thinned 1:1. Watching your method, I was surprised that you're not thinning your primer, and instead increase the air pressure to 25-30 psi to compensate for the thickness of the primer. Basically it's 3 different methods that cover the thinning spectrum, and from what I can see, each seems to work just fine using lite, even coats. My reasoning is that the super thinned primers/paints are lacquer based, the Tamiya primers are an acrylic lacquer base, and your primers are a true Acrylic. And each of these bases are best air brushed at completely different thinning ratios. Just how far off base am I?

Whenever I see somebody do the backflow thing I die a bit inside... why not just flush it with some more water instead? You're forcing a tool designed to push air and paint forward do the exact opposite - push it backwards, that can't be healthy for the seals inside.
@InternationalScaleModeller
@InternationalScaleModeller 3 года назад
Does nothing at all to the seals. No damage whatsoever. Back flowing it only pushes paint and cleaner back into the colour cup
