As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home ru-vid.comUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.
It's nice to see a video of someone that knows their shit! explains the calming pet and chin cradle, along with the counter bite/full bite! I like your style!
Cat deme If you love your dog, don't train him to be aggressive. If you fail to keep him safely at home and he harms someone, it will be your fault if he dies. The average dog owner cannot guarantee that his dog will never escape but that is required if you have created a dangerous /deadly dog.
YOU are great ... Just love your way of explaining things and demonstration. Please tell me from what age should I teach my puppy all these guarding techniques... My puppy is 45 days old . Should I start now or should I wait for some time before starting? Thanks...🙏🏻🙏🏻
Okay!!! Question!! I would love for you to cover in a video info on if a dog can be trained for protection AND service for C-PTSD as in flashbacks/anxiety attacks/night terrors? Like for sex trafficking victims, veterans or other survivors?
My heart sank when you said dogs need a high prey drive. I have cats, always did, always will. I want my protection dog to protect the furry members of the family too.
That shouldn’t be an issue if you teach your puppy to control his drive by giving him enough exercise. My Rottweiler puppy has a grandfather with a IPO 3 title, so naturally he has high prey drive and he only starts messing with the cat if he hasn’t gotten enough exercise. He’s 3 months old now (came home at 8 weeks) and he finally learned that the cat is not a toy.
Also, introducing your dog to your cat in the proper manner helps! Letting your dog sit in a crate with a yummy treat while you let your cat roam free (it helps your dog understand that the home is also the cats). I didn’t do this when my boy first came home so I think it’s why it took a little longer than I expected before he started getting along with the cat.
I have a 5 month old cane corso, he loves to bite smaller things but once i brought a sleeve he only bites the loose parts like the tip and just by the elbow. I tried to use the "skin" thing you pull over only and also the arm itself. But he wont bite in the middle. What do I do? I want him to be able to grab an arm not only a toy..
I work with dogs in Europe.. Maybe talk about diferent strategys. Because we allways give preference to the confident dog then the one teach to be something their not.. Results ar much different... But still personal opinion
I intruduce this training to my puppy and he starts catching chiks in our back yard. There are 2 casualties now, how can i stop him from attacking those poor chicks??
How to teach a dog to switch bite place and teach them, left arm, right foot, groin etc... or if someone grabs a knife help your dog understand to avoid the blade and back out of the situation if needed!? what would be Your ways to train this!? Thanks for a great video :)
@@oh-not-the-bees7872 actually is exactly how it works! I hear you are a narcissist trying to lecture people you got zero idea of who they are in reality! If I ever meet you I will demonstrate this specifically on you yo teach You a lesson! 😈😹
@@SimplicityForGood Dogs are not so good at multitasking .If you teach a dog to switch the biting place he will expect that and the grips will not be full and will lack any real power .Don't worry when you are getting bit by a dog it's almost immposible to stab the dog.
Keith Carey if you’re being serious about this, I would say reconsider the English mastiff for another mastiff that has high drive and better working capabilities such as the original working neos or even a presa or maybe even a tosa
Keith Carey I agree that would be a killer combo but wouldn’t english mastiffs be too big and sluggish and not flexible. Unless you can find one that doesn’t have exaggerated features and can move gracefully, that would be a killer dog especially in a pack
My Aussies want the tussle itself more than the item they're tussling over. If I let them win and take it, they throw it back at me so the game can continue!
How is this protection training? I play with my puppies like this all my life.. okay this can be bite training to take a full bite for example, or not to release because of distractions.. it can be a pray drive test I suppose but if this continues to work on sleeve dog will learn to bite a sleeve ( that is on a human ) and release on command but then that dog ain’t protecting anything he’s just playing with bite suit like on spring roll... correct me if I’m wrong but common sense tells me this
