How the hack does he train those dogs so fast. Master trainer at work! I wish I could do an apprenticeship with him. I would work for free just to learn his methods.
My female is hard headed AFFFF…but we kept 3 pups out of her and I absolutely ADORE them!! They are much easier to handle and deal with bc they’re not nearly as hardheaded as she is and was. I had to use a lot more harsh discipline on her by the time she was 5 1/2 months old (their age now) than I’ve even had to get close to using with them. I feel like I didn’t even LIKE my female til she was close to a year old bc of all the corrections I had to give her, due to her always challenging and wanting to be alpha and it’s a HARD NO for me so I always won/win but yeah it was rough. On the surface of it she seemed like a well behaved dog, bc she was most of the time-it was just the alpha thing when she would come out of nowhere trying me on something small for no apparent reason and I’d be like wtf!!! Sometimes something bigger but I’m amazed at these babies though, OMG I love them!!! Anyway, don’t get me wrong-people come up to us (my female and I) everywhere, they say, “Oh wow she’s so well behaved! She’s a beautiful dog!” Things of that nature on a constant basis-but they have NO IDEA how much work it was getting her there. Even when she was young she was well trained, and mostly obeyed me and it made people think she was perfect lol, but again-the work that went into keeping her in line and the intermittent power struggles just about drove me CRAZY. I’ve trained her to be a service animal, and she is very smart so she did well and I used to take her to all the stores I went to, from about 4 months of age after she had all her shots so I knew she’d be safe, and she did great. She impressed everyone but me lol bc I knew she was going to be pulling a stunt on me again in the near future. I’ve always trained my own animals-my horses, dogs, and even cats, goats and chickens, lol-to many peoples’ amazement-but this dog? She was the biggest challenge of all. Now that she’s closer to 3 years, I feel she’s finally realizing I’m NEVER going to let her be the alpha, lol…but it’s been a long hard journey!! BOTTOM LINE IS THIS: I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ONE OF THESE DOGS FOR A PERSON WHO IS NOT ABLE TO STAND UP TO THEM AND CORRECT TO THE EXTENT NECESSARY WHEN NEEDED. Period. And they need obedience training-if you can’t do the training yourself you absolutely MUST have it done by someone knowledgeable. But I love this breed. ❤
Good video, if you watch your leg position you’re leaving your right leg open to lead him to shuffle his back end and you’re feeding with your right hand every time.
Haz, is there a reason you wait a second before giving him the marker word? I thought I had to mark the second the dog puts his butt down, or when his elbows hit the ground etc.
I’ve got a 5 stone pitbull I rescued and when someone comes in my flat he gets really excited and jumps all over them could you give me some advice on how to stop him doing that please I would be so grateful thanks mate. From Jason uk 🇬🇧
You probably figured out the answer within these 8 months but yes you’re correct, they are from the same breed. Cane and a Presa are from the same mastiff family. They cousins essentially.
