@davyfaulk2959 vapor lock occurs in the fuel. I dont know that doing that would help or not honestly. Heres something that might help you with vapor lock issues... www.motortrend.com/how-to/engine-vapor-lock/
If I take the starter out and I can move the flywheel one tooth at a time with a pry bar is that pretty much the same scenario? I'm doing this on a Honda I'm thinking it was a bad electrical issue maybe a bad ignition switch even. All the lights are dimming and total power drain when I turn the key. It could also be a bad ground wire I'm thinking.. 🤔 the starter has been tested and is certified as good by O'Reilly's.
When I try to manually crank from the bolt I hear it move slightly then it gets stuck like this, does that mean my engine is repairable? Or should I get a engine diagnosis? Idk where to go from here because I dont know whether it would be cheaper to just have the engine replaced or repaired
@arnoldasmilevicius3871 no way could I diagnose this for you on RU-vid. Put it on all 4 jackstands so the car is completly off the ground and put it in neutral. Try to spin it. If still frozen, start taking things off like belts and timing and see if its still frozen up after each thing you take off. And people wonder why we charge for diagnostics lol. Now you get to see... Diagnostics can be rough.
My 97 Rav4 stopped on me all the sudden earlier & when i go to start it, the car cranks like it wants to start but won't turn over. Any ideas??? Is it a seized engine of the timing Chain??
@@MegaMilesBen Thank you for responding. Yeah when I turn the key it just keeps sounding like it want to turn on but its not. If the motor was seized it wouldn't do anything other than make clicking noise right?? I just got to get it checked out
Quick question mine will go to start and have a real slow crank and then thud and stop about the same point every time. It'll be tough to rotate the engine and then itll be easier and I can rinse and repeat and still can't get mine to start it's has a new starter, battery, battery wires for ground and positive going to the starter, alternator, and the wires running to the ignition, new ignition switch and new flywheel. Could it be partially seized? What do you think I should try next toget this bad boy to turn over besides a beefier flywheel and a high torque starter?
@@MegaMilesBenI need help as well got the battery and the alternator replaced on an 05 Camry got into it one day the key was stuck in acc & I can’t figure out how to get it going again 😮😢 I spent my last on this and no one has my back
So i replaced the starter a year ago, tried to jump the battery and that didnt work so i got a new battery and it did work for a day but then wouldnt start. Replaced the alternator but it still didn't work. Checked the battery again and its good. Its been lealing oil but ive been adding it alot too. Is it most likely seized?
Its not seized then. Theres something internal going on sounds like to me. Id open up the timing and check the chain isnt broke and getting stuck first (if its a chain). If its a timing belt, Id check to make sure it hasnt snapped and caused valve issues.
@@MegaMilesBen the chain its OK still intact i have look inside the piston with a mini camera every thing is clear i put the camera inside the timing chain to see from top cam gears to bottom crankshaft timing chain but nothing i think ill have to remove side panel oil pump just to make sure nothing is there. Any other idea? ill have to check the valves. actually i bought this engine on a junkyard.
Bro voice it at the lowest decibel... Seized engine check list Low oil Car powers up and click by no start Crankshaft is super hard to move or can't be moved at all wilth bar
I have very low voice, its the only one I got, sorry. Ive been working on that the more videos I make, its been mentioned before. At least I still help people with my videos, thats all that really matters to me. Yes, thank you for your input and thanks for watching.
@@MegaMilesBen Your very clear in speech... You just sound like Berry white. I'm using Marvel mystery oil in my spark plugs holes to soak the pistons 4 a few days. They said vinegar works the best at unseizing pistons... What's your recommendation?
@HomeRunRealEstate-xi3rm Ive actually never messed with siezed pistons. Theres a lot of info and videos for that. Some work, some dont and sometimes it doesnt matter what you do.
I gotta Question, I bought a mustang with a bad radiator. Paid a shop to fix it and refill it with more coolant. And i drove it after well a couple weeks go by and my car starts saying it’s getting and and then cold, hot then cold. It’s not smoking so I genuinely don’t think it’s my coolant level because it just got filled. I thought it was maybe a sensor so I fixed the engine coolant temp sensor still didn’t fix, and I found a hole in a hose so I put tape over it. Thought it was just my temp gauge well I drove it and the hose from my air intake to my left valve cover blew a hole and my car shut off. Fixed both the hose but the car won’t start back up, now sounds like a starter but why would that go bad. It sounds like a whirring sounds when turning the key over. It doesn’t crank or start just a whirring sound and everytime it drains my battery more and more to the point my lights in the car get dimmed
Im not sure what to tell you here. Every crank pulley Ive dealt with has always had a middle bolt, even when other pulleys are attached to it. I guess if I ran into that situation, Id remove the serpentine belt and use a strap wrench on the crank pulley to make it turn.
@@BrianT-gd7vd thanks . engine still in car wit trans attached. It sat for a couple years not sure if it seized up. Just found out neutral safety switch was problem
I tried to do it on my 2011 Dodge Nitro (from the top) and it moved a little bit, like 4"-6" but that the only space that I had to maneuver. Does it sound that it's not seized? I'm thinking the time shain becuase it die on me when I was driving.
If youre getting movement its probably not seized. Whatd Id do is take the serpentine belt off and make sure one of the other pulleys isnt stuck/sticking.
Have same problem with my 07 nitro it died on me while driving.. now don't start making clicking sounds when I start.. replace starter ,alternator, and battery still won't turn on?
Started engine then turned off engine. I heard a loud ping when I turned it off the engine. Engine is seized. Any ideas what could be seized on the engine? Ls1 v8. Checked the timing chain that’s not snapped. Great video, thanks.
@ericerps3298 thats probably really going to be the only way to find out anyway. You might be able to poke around with one of those camera scope things.
When I go to turn the fan or crank pulley by hand do i need to raise it and put it neutral or anything? Also the stupid auto parts gave me plugs with the the threaded shank end is almost 1/4” shorter than my old plugs but didnt notice till i was ready to pop them in. They said they “should” still work but im skeptical. Any thoughts?
@@MegaMilesBen Hey man sorry to bug you but. So when I am going to try to manually turn the crankshaft. Do I need to lift the front and rear of the truck if it is a RWD? I'm asking because I am a little nervous about it being parked on an inclined driveway. Can I just raise the rear? or do I need to raise entire vehicel for it to turn? Again sorry about all the questions.I know you are just offeirng advice.
@@MegaMilesBenHello, had work on a 92 deville 4.9. Worked on the water pump, the timing chain gasket, and timing chain. Got it all together. Drove 1 day fine. Next morning engine seized. No explosions with oil and radiator fluid. Just parked and no start after. Do you possibly know why or how?
Thats ok, theres plenty of other videos that discribe the same thing. Maybe you can find one that sooths you. Thanks for the input. Not much I can do about my voice however, sorry, its the only one I was given. Heres my input for you... I think you mean "The" and "Uninterested" ;)
So as I’m driving my car locks up like the steering is tight and the pedals wont work and I shut it off now it wont start not even a crank, is it seized?
@@ton41boy I’m waiting for a tow currently I’ve had a tick for a few days now though it might be my manifold bolts because the truck was running smooth besides the tick
