Hey JackyChannel! Sorry to hear that your knee can't extend all the way :-( Locking is a sign of a more serious meniscus problem... Have you had any imaging done like an MRI? All is not lost yet, we've helped many people with meniscus tears and knee locking like yours. Most of the time they can get rid of the knee locking, any swelling and pain and get back to walking normal. Some of our meniscus clients have gotten back to us to let us know they're jogging and weight lifting problem free. You really should consider getting some sort of professional help though. That way you don't get worse in the meniscus and end up needing knee surgery for sure.
You are providing such a valuable service. At 70 years old, I tore my meniscus and could not afford physiotherapy . Your instructions and explanations of how to affect healing was invaluable to me. Thank you so much. I download all your podcasts and share them with friends.
Hi Dr EI Paso, i was diagnosed with knee arthritis and meniscus tear months ago, and received three injections as treatment, doctor got out some yellowis fruid out my knee. My knee remains painful without pain control medication. I am very grateful for your genuine kind presentation on how to heal meniscus tear by three exercises you showed. Just by following your instrucions, i felt much better😊You are an angel doctor👍🏻❣️God bless you🙏🏻
I fought to get an MRI because many fixtures told me that my X-rays just showed arthritis. I have extreme pain at all times in the inner knee by the patella. I had fluid and blood removed from both knees. I feel sacks behind my knees. I previously had a bakers cyst burst. That was painful. I finally received my MRI and it showed arthritic changed, torn meniscus, shredded ACL, broken tibia behind patella and tibia shift. I was desperate for relief. I came up of your videos and now I’m mostly pain free and I don’t need to take the pain meds any longer. Occasionally it “pops” out and I just do the exercises and wringing motion of my thigh and I get relief! Thank you….thank you…thank you!!!
Hi. Yes this does help my knee. Certain movements in say, a Pilates class, are not for me, but because everyone else is doing them, you feel left out😂 and by the end of class you know you’ve made a wrong move. What’s strange is the next day I hiked 3 miles and was not hurting at all during the hike, but later I was limping. So very strange this comes and goes.
So happy for you. I get upset with any medical pro who gives us NO HOPE! ONEneurologist indicated there is no hope for my husband's dementia diagnosis, but, who knows what 's around the corner? Many times meds that are taken for one condition, frankly help another, and diet, exercise, and a positive attitude go along way to relief, and at times, a cure. I told my husband, if I die before you, cremate me, and put up a stone that reads..."There's Got To Be A Way...Never Give Up." If I hadn't pushed that key to this practice, I might have become a lot worse, and surgery would have been the only way out!
I had an MRI to confirm my meniscus tear and went from 9/10 pain to 0.5/10 pain in two weeks using comfrey poultice and ginger poultice and drinking herbal teas plus other natural remedies. Plus stopped drinking coffee. Thanks for the exercises I’ll add them in.
Dear sir.... Your high reps and low resistance exercise has really been showing results in a week......my knee is gaining its strength......im never going to stop this excercise now..... I think i will be able to repair my cartilage or maniscus within 3 months completely..... Once again thank you....
finished watching a couple of your videos and I am crying, trying to hold it together for the moment finally finding at least hope---I have been seeking out help for 2 months and I am suffering---will be implementing your tips---thanks for your caring heart
@@ayenigabriel5128 I'm still in disbelief , but still in recovery--my access to precise assessment has been challenging. I had spiraled into depression from time to time.
Question about the foot dragging/knee rotation exercise; I've seen your other video about this where you use your hands to press inward first before doing the foot part. Is doing just the foot part just as effective? Also, due to painful rotation of knee with meniscus tear, would the inward turned foot dragging part likely be painful? Very interesting that it seems to help a lot of people. Have you seen any imaging evidence that this actually changes anything?
Hello Doc. I just got an MRI as advised by the ortho here. The results show a longitudinal tear of the posterior horn of medial meniscus (with minimal effusion) of the left knee. Way back in 2006 I had a meniscus tear of the same left knee (due to a minor motorcycle accident) and the ortho had suggested exercises which I had and after few months it was fine. After 18 years I have had this. Unfortunately I do not have the old MRI report to correlate both of them. However, I have been in a desk job all these years. I have been pretty active since 2017, majorly with regular brisk walking, yoga, and some strengthening exercises since 2023. Can I cure it with the exercises like it did before? I can walk properly, but when I sit for a long time (I have a desk job) the knee joint irritates me. I feel the need to extend it and feels a bit better or even stand for few mins. Hope you can answer my question Doc. Eagerly waiting for your reply.
Greta video. I think I just have minicus irritation. I have been overtraining with hiit workouts 6 days a week for months and it finally took a toll on my body. My favorite exercise is the knee swing! I will also work on reducing my inflammation and will listen to my body and allow it to heal before attempting exercise. Thanks so much!
I wanted to say THANK YOU! I had a grade 2 degenerative meniscus, and chondromalacia. I've been focusing on glutes instead of quads and feel the difference! I just signed up for your program. - Update 1 / 10 days - Knee pain has reduced by 40%, along with the clicking. - Update 2 / 20 days - Positive: clicking and pain stabilized, no bad flare-ups. Negative: still not able to do more than 1000 steps per day, still mild-moderate pain even with so little steps. - Update 3 / 1 month - Pain reduces at 2/10. Knee feels lighter. Able to do up to 1100 steps with little pain. However got a flare-up this week and I feel a bit clicking again but not painful. I'm kinda stuck at this point and also forgot to do some of the stretches since starting the program😢Also, I haven't managed to successfully isolate the glutes, I'm still using hamstrings now and then. - Update 4 / 3 months - Pain has reduced a lot in contrast to the beginning, clicking as well. Able to do up to 1300 steps per day without meniscus pain, only patellar pain. Exercising the glutes daily is impossible, it puts too much strain on the muscle, so be careful with that. At the 2 month point I was stuck not progressing, so I had to add quad exercises, due to my completely inactive quads and adductors. That helped me progress. The foot exercises of the program have caused me foot pain, so please also be careful with how much you exercise these body parts. Do not do them daily, it is too much for the body. You cannot count just on glutes for walking, eventually you have to strengthen all other structures.
I am thanking you with my whole heart right now . You have given me real hope . I am quite sure i damaged my knee and ankle yesterday in a nasty fall . Im almost immobilized , really swollen and in pain . After listening to your wonderful and very capable presentation , i feel that at least theres a CHANCE that i can avoid surgery , and brother , i pray i can avoid it bc i have a real fear of surgery . Im in a much better place now , mentally , all thanks to you . I love your pleasant and friendly manner too . And you made me laugh with your poppie-eyed funny look when you were saying the surgeon has to look inside the joint . You are changing lives and helping people . GOD BLESS YOU !!!
Hey MissLeeNY!!! We're happy to help you! We're so glad that you have hope about avoiding surgery now!!! Sorry to hear about your fall and all the pain and swelling you've had lately. We hope you get to feeling better really fast!!! May God bless you too!!! 👀😜
This video was extremely helpful along with your video about the ACL. I tore my MCL and ACL on a ski slope in Italy in February of 2020. I completed 3 months of PT during the start of the pandemic after 6 weeks of no weight. I am still experiencing weakness, uncomfortable and sometimes painful fatigue which now is leading to a weakness in my other knee due to compensation. The exercises you demonstrated are different that what I was taught and give a good example of your 28 day plan.
Hey Julia! Sorry to hear about your ACL and MCL tear last year :-( I hope you’re getting stronger now that you’re doing these exercises! Let us know how it is going!!!
Hi, may I ask how many times per day should these exercises be done in order to be effective? I have a medial meniscus tear and severe pain and locking of the knee.
About 3 weeks ago, I noticed a intermittent pain in my right knee on the medial side, especially after my yoga sessions. And a week after this there was much pain and inflammation which forced me to rest. However, whenever I did move about a lot on pressure would fall on my left leg and eventually developed pain in the left medial too. I came across one of your videos, doctor and tried the tailgate swings and found it so helpful. I have a bit of resistance while extending my legs at times. The first time I did these swings, I got a whole lot of relief. Continuing the exercises! Thanks a lot! 😊🙏
YAYYYYYYY!!!!!! This is fantastic to hear Coach Jeeva!!!! We're sooo happy to hear you've found relief with our guidance!! Thank you for updating us on your success!!!!
I have chronic medial meniscal tear with large parameniscal cyst. Trace deep infrapatellar bursitis. Can I do walking at my job or should I avoid more walking
Thank you so much for your informative videos. I have a meniscus problem and pain which is getting better slowly. I am doing exercises you and others have prescribed and I believe they are helping my condition. Recently I visited a podiatrist and he has prescribed orthotics to correct knee alignment. My knee does bow out a little when I step. What are your thoughts on using orthotics to correct pronation and knee alignment? Thanks again, Rob, Melbourne Australia
Sliding leg backward/forward, with foot turned in, has helped immensely and walking is way less painful…your instructions in other video to realign joint also very helpful. Looking forward to trying the other exercises in this video. Thank you. You’re a champion 👍🏼
Good-day doc. First-off I want to thank you for your very helpful and informative videos. Honestly you're one of the best resources that I've found and am having some good success with your excercises. Im at 9 weeks post-injury and my question is that, is it normal for me to not be able to fully extend my leg/knee totally yet, like I can with my good leg at this point? My knee has been getting better with each week that passes, but recently it's to the point where I'm wondering if I might have what's called a bucket-handle tear, which may require surgery. I've never really had much pain, clicking/ popping or catching/ locking. And I've also avoided any anti-inflammatory drugs or icing the knee. I've felt that letting the knee heal naturally was the best way to go. I've only had alot of stiffness and inability to stretch out or extend the knee fully. There's still a little bit of swelling so that might be the reason that I can't fully extend it yet. Your reply/feedback would be greatly appreciated sir. Have a blessed day!
How are you doing now? Did you get surgery any updates I'm having a similar problem can't straighten range of motion is better though doing some of these exercises

Your explanation of purpose of tailgate swing has been tremendously helpful. I was really limited in my ability to walk, as I had been "powering through" keeping moving. Basically compensating with other muscles, bearing weight on my "good knee" and doing all sorts of weird adaptations to keep going. Any time standing up was excruciating. It caused much grief. Just a few days of STOPPING the things thar hurt,, and doing tailgate swings EXTENSIVELY (,yesterday 4 hours spread over the day) resulted in much reduction of pain. I am working on glute strength, and actually can walk 20 minute without pain (judiciously taking steps to reduce impact, and activate glutes). Two decades ago, a PT said "you walk with your quads" but I had no idea what that meant, and zero information about the results. I cannot say enough "thank you" or give you enough accolades. THIS is information that would be imperative for many of our chronic conditions that disable many of the population. Weak glutes affect so much of our every day lives..... Thank you, thank you, thank you
Thanks so much. You are the first video I have come across that gives me hope. I was diagnosed with a MT. So painful. Almost hard to stand up straight. Can't walk straight without stretching even when getting out of the car up getting up from seating. I'm really hopefull that these can help (fingers crossed). I will also check out your 28 day video. Thanks again.

Thank you so much! I’ve been doing the inward knee slide for just a few days and the popping in my knee is gone! . I’m years into knee pain. And have been doing exorcises to strengthen but not on a specific injury. I recently had an mri that shows a slight tare in my meniscus. And your exorcises are already helping, the clicking as I said is gone! I feel like my alignment is back.
My meniscus started acting up a few months ago. I'm leaving on a 3-month road trip so I cannot schedule surgery, which probably wouldn't be a great idea anyway from what I'm hearing. Two of the exercises in this video helped me. The one where you kick your legs back and forth for 5 minutes. And especially the one where you curve your foot inward and slide it back on the carpet to straighten out your tibia. I'll be doing those everyday of my road trip. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for posting this video. I'm very grateful for it.
Incredibly informative and helpful.please keep doing what you are doing as you are truly a God send. Thanks you for your professionalism and humanity! peace and Blessings
I find if I focus on carnivore way of eating my knee is good, my homeopath several years ago diagnosed my menicus tear, a chiropractor was using laser which did not do anything, but he made comments like a bruise behind my knee joint that clued in homeopath. I am focussing on mindful walking grabbing with my toes, makes such a difference in my experience, thankyou. I'm amazed swinging my legs makes such a difference too, right from the first time!
Hi. Thank you for this video. I know what my injuries is now with out going the doctors and hopefully no surgery. I've very active but will take it easy and do your exercises and carry on walking cycling and swimming because feels fine. Devastated because like to dance run and play tennis. Will be careful with recovery. Thank you for this video ❤

I have a small meniscus tear that keep my knee unstable and when I play tennis, I keep falling and then I need to nurse my knee for few weeks. I use knee braces, even a kinetic tape, but they don't help much. Any recommendations for a proper knee brace? Thanks
How do you feel about swimming and doing exercises in the pool? I find it have a great man, range of motion and very little pain while moving around in the water. I often feel like I’m completely hole when I’m in the water.
Recently popped something on my knee while doing jiujitsu. I also feel a pull behind my knee. I can bend knee just a bit. But if I go lower as if im picking up something from the floor it hurts. I do not want surgery. Im trying to heal naturally where Im also doing aome fasting to help reduce inflammation. Will try your exercises. You were the first that i came across how to heal naturally. Thank you for the information.

I've just discovered your informative and useful channel. I am so grateful, what luck. I will follow your advice, I also had sciatica!!! I am going to implement your advice in that regard .Thank you. I'd like to join the 28 day program if it is still available. Big thanks
Hi, brilliant channel for information. The bending of knees for a few minutes eased up the stiffness👍 I had a meniscus tear a few years ago and been fine except for last 2 weeks as been having some pain were the tear was, now removed 20% of it gone. And the same time having a bit of pain on the other knee. I did however started walking more for exercise as started a new job and wanted to be fitter. Also the right knee feels as if I'm kneeling on glass. I have had this feeling before and it goes but this time it hasn't for 3 or so weeks. My knees are creaky which is nothing new. I'm 38 feel like 68 😄

I'm so confused. I injured my right knee and it pops and hurts. I have a really hard time driving. I'm always in pain. I got an MRI done and was told there are no injuries are tears. What else can I do? I picked up a copy of the MRI's to try to get a 2nd opinion. I wish I knew how to read my MRI.
@@ariellalemuria777 I'm still having pain on both of my knees. I'm still planning to get an opinion. Honestly, I'm planning to travel and get stem cell therapy done on both knees. I knees hurt bad when driving. I'm too young to be having this issue.
Hello! Thank you so much for this video! Very informative because I recently got news of a meniscus tear. It says I have oblique posterior horn tear of the medial meniscus. How do I know if It’s in the red or white zone in terms of healing on its own without surgery? The reporter of the MRI also didn’t put the dimensions of the tear that I can see on my report.
My orthopedic traumatologist said that with a grade 3A tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus, it's only possible to restore it after 15 years, and only if you're a child. Is this true?
Hi There, Thank you for reaching out with your question. It sounds like you’ve received some concerning information from your orthopedic traumatologist. While it’s true that the healing time for a meniscus tear can vary widely depending on the severity and individual factors, saying it can only be restored after 15 years and only in children is incorrect. Grade 3A tears, which are more severe, do present a significant challenge, but many factors, including, overall health, and adherence to a tailored rehabilitation program, can influence the healing process. Our approach focuses on non-surgical methods and rehabilitation techniques that have been beneficial for many individuals with meniscus tears, but every case is unique. Just in case you're interested, we have a knee meniscus help playlist. We recommend trying it out so that you may see if it can help you if you are dealing with knee meniscus issues. You can access it here: "Knee Meniscus Help" ru-vid.com/group/PLJVIPiFvv1mZ9Vh4eRH3UlmMeqOUtB-6a Start with one or two exercises, beginning with the smallest range of motion and the lowest intensity. As you feel stronger, you can gradually increase both the range of motion and intensity. It’s best to do these exercises every day throughout the day. Aim to tire out the muscle without losing form or control. Consistency is key. Always avoid working through pain; soreness and mild discomfort are normal, but pain is not. We wish you all the best on your journey to recovery! We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!

Pretty sure mine is torn. MRI next week to see what’s up. First injured in May, took time off from the gym. Was able to work back to squatting 315 for reps and then one day while warming up with 225, I felt the sharp pain again. Since then, I’ve iced and brought inflammation down multiple times. I’ve still tried to train legs, but heavily modified to remove those exercises that cause me to go below parallel. I think it may have gotten worse over time which sucks. I’m taking a complete week off again to see what happens, but this injury sucks. I’ve tried to work around it, but it even with light weight, I’ll get slight pain. And then I got to ice for a few days and it’ll calm down. Been doing basic stretches, but my quad has significantly atrophied. I used to go really intense with leg workouts, and now I can really only do light weight for high reps. Going to try everything before opting for surgery, but also don’t want to make it any worse. Will report back what the MRI confirms.
Dr. David, I appreciate your knowledge and exercises for knee pain. I was curious if you could give your opinion on getting a MT trimmed. What are the pros and cons? Even with good muscle balance, isn't there still a concern the flap could move around and get caught in an area to cause locking up in the future.
Hey Joni, sorry to hear that you had to get a cortisone shot :-( Absolutely yes this program will help you even if you’ve had an injection recently. In fact, hopefully it gets you some good temporary relief so you can get to exercise more comfortably.
I have been doing a deep dive into your videos after doing "something" to my knee a month ago. I have an ortho appt this week but have been trying to self-diagnose while I wait. I had settled on OA but now am wondering about meniscus irritation or tear. When you say 'popping,' could it also be described as crackling? I have very crackly knees. Thank you for all your information. You are the best I've found and I have watched a LOT of videos.
Omg! Thank you, thank you! I’ve had minor pain and was managing it over the last few months. I just got back from Europe, after walking up and down many hills and when I got off the plane after a 9 hour flight I couldn’t walk at all. I read that sitting with your knees at a 90 degree angle isn’t good so I’m going to assume that was the reason. I stumbled across your video and did the massage where you wrap your hands around your knee cap and lo and behold it worked. I cannot tell you how this made me feel. I really thought I was destined for surgery! Once again thanks for your expertise!

hi doctor David ,I'm 21 y/o female. I started having knee pain a month ago while doing some deep squats. In MRI grade 1 meniscus tear and low grade partial thickness tear of few fibers of Acl is mentioned. I have been doing your glute exercises for last couple weeks. My pain is not as intense as earlier but it goes up time to time when I walk or do activities a lot. My doctor also gave my quad exercises but I feel like doing the quads hurt my knee cap. Will glute exercise alone fix my knees?? How much time it should take if I do the exercises regularly?? Any tips? I've never felt this much confused in my life.
I've "known" you for a while and respect you a lot, but I have two questions/objections: 1. I have minor, still troublesome, meniscus injures in both my knees, as well as lack of cartilage, and the simple thought of doing a table top position, much worse, move my legs, horrors me. How can anybody do that while still having the joint inflammation? 2. I used to do the tailgate swings when I was ok and it felt good, but after the injury I tried and I felt like my knees cannot bare the weight of my legs and will dissolve, it felt very scary. So how can one perform the suggested exercises being still in the acute period of the injury?
I have R.A last 4 yrs also neuropathy I never had knee problems. I went to neurologist about my feet and left leg. Doc was testing lower half with electrode machine. He just looked at bad leg& said no nerves n foot dropped he lied. my good leg behind knee it hurt like heck he pushed hard 3 times with that machine after that I cudnt walk got mri said menisca is ripped now no cartilage also Iam so mad i know Its doc fault. Now I need knee replaced, knee stays bent and other leg is getting bent Is their any HOPE of me correcting this problem with your videos? Or should I or do I have sergery? I don't trust any doctors, I've had a few bad experience. Help please
I hope I wont need surgery!! My report says,Complex tear of the posterior horn and body of the medical menisus with a horizotal flap tear . Extensive complex tearin medicsl menisuc witj a large flab meniscal tissue extending in to the superior gutter. Don't understand tthis at all !!!. Can exercises help! I do not want surgery.
I don't what exactly is my problem.. I was playing football and happened to miss my step and fell.. at the moment I couldn't get up until after some minutes with assistance.. it's been paining for long.. at first I took medication and some massage and cold compression and the pain relieved after some months. But if I run, I feel this vibration in my knee and when I mistakingly fall, the two knee bones will make this clicking sound, very loud and painful.. I've been feeling the pain and I don't know exactly what my diagnosis would be.. is it meniscal or TCL tear?
I went to a ortho doctor today, having suffered from Knee effusion and grade 1 lateral meniscus and ACL tear of my left knee. The hopeless doctor didn't explain anything detailly, he seems in uninterested and busy with himself, what a shame, I don't want to visit him ever again. He just extracted out some fluid from my knee which gave me great pain relief 😅.
I'm so glad to find your videos. Both of my parents have had knee replacements and I'm just noticing this meniscus pain at 46 yo. I'm hoping to stay ahead of it. Thank you so much!
Doc, at no given time did you state how long should you rest the injury first before exercising the knee. I injured mine on the 1st of March. After about three weeks if felt better, but I guess I re-injured it by not resting enough. It became swollen again and stiff. Doc, I'm thinking of giving my knee a 90 day rest before I start trying to exercise it, what did you think.
I just spent my last dime on a brace and compression sleeve. The doctor wants to do surgery but I tried these 3 exercises and had a lot of relief first day. Where can I find the other exercises? I just don't have the $97 after the doctor took $500 and the brace took my last $100
Have soreness on inside of knee. Initially had some pain on outside of knee and made an appointment with an orthopedic doctor clinic. They tested the knee joint by bending the leg in different ways and said that the outer meniscus was torn. They then gave me a Cortizone shot in the outside joint line. Knee was good for a while then after about three months the inside shin bone was sore. Not in the joint but on the top inside of shin bone. I did your exercises to try to shift the shin bone inward and at first they really helped. But after about a week of doing it, the ache started below the knee cap and now the knee aches at night. It eventually goes away and the first number if steps in the morning are without pain. But now during the day it aches more. Been icing it which stops the pain but then comes back about an hour later. Would like to know is if that Cortizone shot or the second shot I had messed up my meniscus and the miner joint all together and should I stop doing those exercises of the tibial shift?
I bend my knee , and as I extend it feels as if it’s out of place or like I need to crack it like my fingers I could hear it popping and locking however now it just feels like it out of place , no more pop and lock once I extend. It doesn’t hurt just beyond uncomfortable and annoying Like something’s out of place
Foot-rotated-our heel slide was most painful move that I can generate when I was trying to diagnose which part of the meniscus I injured. Should I still do it even it’s painful to me?
Hello I’m from Belgium and I do all your exercises for hip and knee arthritis every day and it helps a lot However I would like to know if I can use my massagegun for my knee arthritis? I already use it for my hip The probleem with the hip is on my right leg and the knee is the left leg. Thank you on beforehand for your reply
Hi dr , my mri report shows grade 3 complex posterior horn miniscus tear , only the starting 2 days were the painfull one and from the 3rd day i can fully bend and starraigten the leg with a slight discomfort but no pain , dr suggests me to go through a surgery... What should i do in your opinion? I play football and want to continue that .
From this video I’m assuming I don’t have a tear thank god because that was my worst fear since I love the gym. Trying to avoid surgery by all cost. But gonna get a second opinion just to be sure, it’s just some tenderness no clicking or popping, no swelling. Occasionally gets stiff if I’m in one position too long that’s it.
Hey Carlissa! It's always good to get a second suggestion so you can weigh out all your options. You should know that healing without having to go through surgery for a meniscus tear or meniscus injury is extremely possible. One thing to consider is that at El Paso Manual Physical Therapy we specialize in helping people avoid unnecessary injections & surgery while traditional physical therapy tends to focus on healing post-surgery. Because of this, the information we provide will be different from traditional physical therapy advice. Along with doing these exercises would recommend walking for exercise if it can be tolerated? These exercises have helped tremendously doing them do the first time.
Weirdly, the final test was the most tolerable. However, the first 3 fired up pain. I work out regularly and was recently told that I was squatting incorrectly, after altering my squats and having physical therapy, it started to get better, but unfortunately flared up big style today, so I've rested and tried your tests. Thanks for the knowledge x
Hey Tracy, Thanks for sharing your experience with the tests and your recent journey with squatting and physical therapy. It's great to hear that the final test was more tolerable for you. Sometimes, our bodies can surprise us with unexpected responses. Unfortunately, setbacks can happen along the way, as you experienced today. It's all part of the process. When things flare up, it's essential to give yourself some rest and listen to your body. We're glad you found value in the tests we shared, and we appreciate your positive feedback. Wishing you a speedy recovery and continued progress in your fitness journey! We'd love to hear how you are doing as you progress.🙌 Please take care!
I have found Better advice online than from a PT that I had a few sessions with. She was Horrible! I was 2 minutes late once, due to a last-minute bathroom run. As I approached her, she made an exaggerated motion of looking intently at her watch. The next appointment she told me that I could only ask her ONE question relating to my condition. ONE QUESTION? REALLY??? She despised that I asked her if she followed any RU-vid PTs. She came back hard at me. What a B** Luckily, at the next appointment, she informed me that she was leaving the practice soon and that I was to set up my last appointment with her. I never let it show, but I was THRILLED...that she was leaving. She wasn't of as much help as she could have been!!!!
Sorry to hear about your experience allkindsamusicchick :-( There's good and not so good professionals in every industry. We're glad that you've found help here :-)
My knee doesn’t heal but the tail gate swings are what helps the best when I get severe pain I’m working on the knee arthritis program and I’m hoping that will help also on the meniscus tear
I have grade 3 posterior horn of medial meniscus tear.. I am feeling pain while walking.. Do i need surgery for this or PT will work for this. Expecting ans from you on this.
Hey Rushikesh Pawar, sorry to hear about your meniscus tear. Whether you need surgery or not depends on if you can get the symptoms under control. That's your main chance at seeing if your knee will respond to PT. If you're feeling pain when walking, then you should reduce how much you are walking. I had a meniscal tear and then did keyhole surgery where he sawed off the meniscus. This was in 2001. Wrongest thing I did and I developed knee arthritis and and can't walk without pain now. I am doing your 28 day program now, and the progress is slow. Is there something you can do to help me?
I have this ACL tear 4 years back along with recent meniscus tear probably due to unstable knee. I am avoiding going to surgery for another 1 year now due to its long post rehabilitation time. Since 1 week i could hardly walk & Dr told me now only solution is surgery. But OMG i found this video & the moment i did 1st inward movement of the leg exercise i heard a pop & by the time i finished it start 2nd exercise I already felt a sense of relief & able to walk without pain. Hopefully now I believe i can stretch my surgery till next year till that time i'll be doing these 3 set of exercise. Thank you sir.

Hey. I have a bucket handle tear in my left knee since December 2019 but surgery gets delayed due to Covid. I was told a repair for me is not possible so it would just be to remove the damage. Is it possible to avoid surgery? My knee is sore but I have full range in extension and can teach yoga no problem. I do have a lot of crunching noise though on extension from squats even without weight. Thanks!
Hey Jason! It sounds like you're doing well without having the surgery! The crunching sound is normal with a meniscus injury. As long as you're not getting swelling or pain when doing exercise, then it's ok to proceed despite the noisy knees. The fact that you have full motion is really good. A little soreness is normal as it is healing. Just watch out that the soreness does not increase. If it does, then you're doing too much activity. You should look at fixing any imbalances you have that may have set you up for the meniscus tear. Our 28 Day Knee Health & Wellness Boost Program is ideal for this. Have you heard of it? It's a 100% online and on-demand program with exercises , advice and coaching from Dr. David. You can find out more details here: www.epmanualphysicaltherapy.com/knee-health
I rarely comment on video I watched but this helped me out a lot. I injured my meniscus a couple of days ago. Can't walk and felt tenderness on my inner knee. I tried the sitting leg slides and I found out some imbalance on the knee that I injured, my foot doesn't turn outside as much as my other foot. I'll continue working on it but I already felt some improvements in sitting and standing up as well as the pain in short amount of time. Thanks!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I use your technique for the stairs and I noticed a real improvement. Here in Greece is haluoronic injections and then surgery. I was so desperate and I looked in the internet for a light. And then I saw your videos. You have such a kind heart. Congratulations tobyour parents! With all my respect, A wooden knee with meniscus and chondropathia from Greece
This is great information in the future if you could make sure that your leg and foot are part of the video, not just the knee area so we can actually see the exercise. It would be beneficial and greatly appreciated.
