Would have liked to see initial steps clarified before going through these steps: which of the two phones should have the SIM card (as normally, you pass it from one to the other)? Should the general phone setup be done first or should nothing be done before using Samsung Switch?

You'd generally leave it as it is(meaning your sim is in your old phone before and during the transfer)and then transfer your data once it's done turn off both devices and insert SIM into the new device

that was the easiest I ever unlocked a phone in my life... thank you! I did set the date to june 30th on my pc as suggested in the comments and I also installed samsung usb drivers, neither the phone nor pc was connected to the internet after the software was installed and It just worked.

Great Vid! Does this process transfer all the contents from the sd card on my old phone to the internal memory on my new phone? I'm going from S20 Ultra (which currently runs 1 128GB SD card, 1 Sim card and 1 eSIM to my new S23 Ultra - which apparently will not allow sd card storage therefore its all internal storage. Also will it also transfer an eSIM?

If eSIMs work the way I think they do, I believe you have to contact the carrier you bought the eSIM from to make the transfer happen. If the eSIM was not bought through a carrier, then the eSIM from your old phone has to be deactivated, then reactivated on your new phone.

Will this app work if your copy from your old Samsung to a different brand phone? On my old phone I have apps on both the internal storage and on the SDcard storage. Will it copy from both to the new phone?

I have a question; I use Samsung S9+ with 128GB internal memory and a sd card storage 32GB, and would like to transfer data to my new Samsung A34 with 128GB internal memory and a sd card storage 128GB. Now, while transferring the data from my old phone to new phone, would the sd card storage 32GB data be transferred to the internal memory of my new phone or the sd card storage 128GB? Would this work with a 9-year old phone like the Galaxy S5 Neo? The app store says it can be installed, but it has the old micro-USB port so I doubt it would fit the new cable for modern phones (USB-C?). Maybe there's an adapter or something? Anyone try this?

Thanks for the video. I did it when 1st got my new fone. After I had a problem with my fone, took it for repair and I used old one for time being. When I got my new one back, tried to transfer the data, it didn't transfer all for some reason!! Like watsap msges and pictures/videos. Can someone help pls?

@stevehoward677 what this guy told you is bull shit. As someone who has done hundreds of transfers this year alone because of my job. If you have a usb-c cord just use that for the transfer. It transfers the data much faster than using wifi.

Both those phones have a USB "C" female charge port. If you have a USB C charger brick the cable it uses is a double male USB C.

I wasn't able to transfer by cable. For this to work you need a cable that works with the USB format on both phones, some sort of double USB cable. Charger cable is not equipped that way in any of my three Samsung Galaxy phones.
