Hi, this video is super helpful! I experienced an issue I'm hoping to get help with; when I copy my files, the comments don't copy over. I know, if I copy an individual file, there's a checkbox option for "copy comments and suggestions," but this option doesn't appear when I select "Make a copy" for multiple files. Do you have any advice for this issue? Thank you.
Great video thanks ! I followed your instructions but it seems as though contents in the transferred folder delete if they're deleted from the account it was originally in. Is there anyway around that?
Yes, you will need to make a copy of the files in the transferred folder like I did in the video. Then, you will be able to delete the files from the old account. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this! Question: Could we move the original files to the new drive instead of making copies? I want the originals so that the edits and dates are saved for memories Edit: Just realized my school district doesn't allow me to transfer ownership of the files to my personal email q-q do you know if there's a way to preserve the edit history?
Thanks Maddie for your videos 🌹 I have Google education account which is alot of space more than 15gb so my question if im no longer a student should the college will closed the account and if not does they will be admin or able to see my personal documents if I save it there ? Please reply thank you 😃
Hmm sounds like your school has really strict security settings. When I made this video, I didn’t know it was possible to restrict people from sharing outside their domain. I will try to research this further! Feel free to email me too
I’m so sad because I’m entering Uni graduated hs 2022 ( a couple months ago) but completely forgot to transfer my info from hs to my personal gmail. The drive was BY my school email and they switched the password because I’m obviously not there anymore and theirs no way for me to get the valuable info I had 😭😭😭
Unfortunately I have over 200GB of data in my Google Drive as I am looking to transfer (also can't change ownership because its a school drive), so this method won't work for me 😥
i think i dragged too many files at once and my computer started bugging and keeps making loud noises, i restarted my computer and the noise is still present i think i ruined my laptop😭
Hi I have seen your video and you have described in detail each and everything but your video and videos of the so many other peoples on the RU-vid who want to give the right information to transfer the file from one drive to another ………………all are not the solution . The reason you that you say that's if we want to move the multiple files we should make a folder and put all the files and then after sharing we can transfer the on the ship here is the clear that whatever you want to say it is easy .......... and you have ended the video here . I have adopted your way but only I can able to transfer the on the ship of the folder but what about a contents which I want to transfer from on edrive to another, it' is taking time and now I am spending a lot time to make the ownership of each file by one. It is time consuming !!!!!!!. I seen many videos but still there is no any satisfactory answer if I need one want to make the on the ship of the multiple files . By your method we are able to only give the ownership of the folder but a contents inside are very hard to transfer the ownership specially in multiple files . Please be clear and tell us how we can transfer our multiple files because only we can get the ownerships of the folder only ….. Not the contents inside .
This is extremely tedious if you have been teaching for anything over 1-2 years. When you have folders within folders within folders within. . . . .well you get the point . . . it's not really going to work. I'm going to keep hunting for a 3rd party app to do the trick.
