Gorgeous! Reminds me trimming a brisket point. Man the marbling in that thing is crazy! Tri tip is fast becoming my favorite beef selection. Thanks for sharing Joe and have a great week brother.

Knife skill is wonderful.👏👍 *Gorgeous* marbling in that ruby tritip, had me swooning, but gracious, the excess fat! Glorious normally, but expensive. Could always render it down make great roast potatoes and fries. Back in the day, my dad had a threader needle, to thread fat through lean meats before roasting. Anything that fat touches is gonna be so heaven. I'm envious, either way. Great video!! Thank you. Love to family xoxo❤❤

Can’t believe they leave that much fat on them ! You’re paying a lot of money for fat. The wagyu briskets and tri tips from The Butcher Shoppe has very minimal trimming needed and you’re paying for all meat.

Midland Meat Co also sells briskets that need zero trimming. Not sure if they sell Tri-Tip that's already trimmed. Many people dont trim much fat off their Tri-Tip, just like people will buy a whole packer brisket and cook it as is. Different strokes for different folks. I buy prime briskets from Costco and easily trip 4 to 5 pounds every time. Thanks for watching buddy.👍🏼

@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ No channel man, total noob here, came to learn. Picked up on the (unintentional?) Finding Nemo quote and couldn't resist. Actually got some tri tip in the fridge, waiting to get smoked and put in a chili. This video is definitely playing as I trim it.

@@SmokinJoesPitBBQ Depends on the dish I'm cooking. This was a texas style, so no beans, with a heavy salt & pepper bark on the meat before cubing it into the dutch oven. It was awesome.
