For those experiencing issues you could try some of the following: - Use the first HDMI port - Disable Freesync / VSync - Disable HDCP - Ensure your monitor mode is in "Standard" mode - Use a high-speed HDMI cable Credit and thanks to @Dragonball Z for all the helpful hints down in the comments. Hi friend, i have a newskill monitor 27 165hz VA panel from samsung 1440p, do you think i need to change the monitor to the dell one you have? Or i will play very fine with this monitor. Thanks
It should work based on the latest PS5 update but many have had issues with different monitors. Best to test it out on your current monitor before purchasing any new monitor.
I think Sony needs to make another update. Looks like a lot of people having issues with 1440p support and 120Hz. Did you try a high speed hdmi cable and turning off VSync/FreeSync? Also using the first HDMI port?
@@ShaunTirubeniTech yep tried everything. Even my hdmi cable I use for pc on the same monitor. Gets me 144hz on 2k and 4k 60hz on my big screen tv. I think you’re right. They need another update for Ultrawide support. Thanks for responding.
I've got my ps5 resolution set on Auto and my TV does support 4K do I need too test the resolution to inable it too work or does it happen automatically seen as I have it set on auto ? 😂 Sorry I'm terrible with tec
Does free sync really need to be turned off ? I’m on a LG ultra gear, 1440p and I haven’t tested anything yet, I just know I do have Hdr and free sync on
I think it may depend. VRR isn't supported on the PS5 yet and so enabling Freesync may cause issues. Best to turn it off until VRR is supported on the PS5.
Anybody know why I get a permanent black screen when trying to play games at 120hz on my monitor? It’s a 144hz ViewSonic, and has no issues with my Xbox or PC.
its a sony thing ive already called them to inform them ive already did a video about this there looking at my video now about this problem it seems theres a bug with the update hers my video to what your talking about ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6pYztIgL9JA.html
so heres what i found out from testing. and was comfirm from sony. if you own any AMD monitor you will have problems ima break it down for all. if you have a monitor that has Free-Sync. AMD FreeSync Premium that go for Premium 2 or pro Free-Sync Adaptive Sync. your monitor will not work. 1. FreeSync Premium will let you run 1440p 120hz but will glitch and sometime disable 120hz and turn off 2160p VRR support with 120hz 2. Free-Sync Adaptive Sync will run 1440p 120hz but if 120hz is enable you will get the blackscreen this will also disable 1080p 120hz 3. Free Sync will sometime display 1440p 60hz or at times not even support 1440p The reason for this is that AMD Monitors supports VRR technology with HDMI 2.0 and 2.1. do to sony disabling VRR with HDMI 2.0 and 1440p with or without 120hz. on a xbox console from XB1X and XBSX work better with AMD Monitors and gives full support for 1440p 120hz with VRR. sony is just being diff to push there new inzone monitors. this is why your having problems with your monitor. heres my video showing it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4hJu3MoxnRo.html&t
Do you have to have 1440p to get 120 hertz cause I have 144 hertz monitor I have turned on all settings on the PlayStation and the monitor and it doesn’t work. But when I try to test the 1440 p it says it is not supported so what else can I do.
120hz is supported at 1080p, 1440p and 4K. You can still play at 1440p 60Hz. Sometimes the hdmi port in the monitor can be lower bandwidth so try the first port
Try turning HDR off but I'd guess it could be either not a high speed hdmi cable or try using the first port. The PS5 seems to have issues with some monitors and can't seem to support 1440p.
I can’t even test 1440 it says hdmi is not supported , and I went to go buy a new hdmi from GameStop and the same shit , smh this is why I play Pc for most of my hardcore games, and sports games on console
I have the LG 32GK650F monitor which supports 1440p 144hz; but on my ps5 it only supports 1440p 60hz SDR for some reason. Anybody know how I can unlock 120hz?
I have lg 27gl83a-b and I can play warzone, cod and fortnite in 1440p with 120fpf. My monitor also supports 1440p at 144hz I think your monitor can do that, but you've set something wrong
@@ShaunTirubeniTech well it turns out my monitor is only 60 Hz I didn’t know what I was doing when I bought it! I’m so disappointed 😔 can you recommend a good budget monitor I can get please? Ave thank you for responding 😀
No VRR so garbage basically, it's like Sony made the minimal effort to appease PC gamers who mostly have 1440p monitors, all this stuff works fine on the series X. These consoles should have supported Displayport which would make this less of a hassle, shame really, I'll just stick to my pc
yet this seems xbox series s and x are better than ps5 since launc in 020 they had 1440p and 4k wow and pc we had 1440p and 4k for years since the xbox one x and ps4 pro ge n and since 2013 we had 4k and 1440p wow on pc .
Ehh. No? It's not "update everyone wanted". Wtf do I need 120fps? Most of games are fine in 30fps. And anyway 120fps is too much for a modern hardware, games don't support it, you can't have nice graphics and 120 fps. Even best PC can't render nice picture in 4k 120fps. Games don't support it, hardware can't do it, players don't need it.
