The available memory shows the memory not used by the PC. If you look to the left of available, you see memory used is 3.8 GB and the available is 12.2 GB, the sum of the 2 is 16 GB
To add 1 more you must use same mhz (2666), but if you are to replace both can you upgrade to higher? like 3200mhz or 3600mhz? this question is regarding Inspiron 3671
What’s the reason for the ram module needing to be the same memory instead of combining a 8gb in one slot and a 16gb in another? I am getting a 16gb ram module tomorrow and after watching this I am not sure if I should combine it with the 8gb or remove the 8gb and have only the 16gb…
Okay big problem, emergency emergency please help! I missed the first part of your video and already had my memory module ordered and delivered and in hand. So I open up the computer and low and behold, no place for an extra memory module!!! They were both taken, filled. OMG. Now what? Well should I replace one? One module has four little black squares and the other one has 8, I wonder if that means it has more memory. So the one extra I bought has the 8 little black squares. Should I replace that one, with the one that has the 4 squares already installed in the computer? Will that give me more memory? Will that erase all the memory I have in there???? Will I lose information? Are there any other options? Not sure what to do. Thanks for any help, your video is really great wish I would have watched before I ordered my memory module.
1st you need to know how much memory you have . If you have a total of 8gb, it means you have 4+4. It would be better then to get 8+8 and sell the 4+4. You can always replace a 4 with an 8. But personally , I like them to be the same
@@KnowledgeSharingTech for some reason they installed it as 4+4 and 8+8. So I replaced the 4+4 with an 8+8, now I have two slots with 8+8. And it works perfectly. I didn't lose any memory. I added memory space. I don't know how it all works but it works! Thank you so much for your great video!
at 3:06 I already have one of that ram in my dell pc if I was to add that ram you installed in my pc would it work or would I have to buy 2 of the ram cards you installed?
