Well, the proof is in the pudding (or hair grease, I should say) because your hair is thriving. You are a blessing to the hair community reminding us of what has always worked a midst of this age of unhealthy consumerism. Yours is a voice of reason amidst the chaos. Please keep posting.
I just subscribed because I'm 26 and my mom is 70 years old this year, I have dreadlocks but wanted to comb them out to go back to loose natural and I'm seeing porosity this and porosity that and hair types with alphabets...and my brain hurts. We were just a shampoo, condition and grease type of family. Thank you for reassuring my hair will STILL be fine using our old methods without all the new natural hair jargon
What I have noticed is that everything else that says don't use grease this or that Majority of the people hair can't retain length. Grease has always worked. People need to stop trying to act like a Scientist. Whatever's best for your hair use it.
@@rihannaajie3866 i do too, however science should not 100% dictate how you should take care of your hair, you have to listen to your hair. If your hair is doing fine with your regimen, then stick to what works for your hair regardless of science. Plese remember, science has it's place.
I just tried it today!! I was amazed at how soft my hair was after shampooing! I didn’t even use conditioner y’all 🤗 thank you for sharing this tip Mrs Mississippi
Every video content you post is always informative. 😁🌺 Actually in the past, petroleum-based products were the conditioner along with animal fats, and coconut oil. They were used in various ways to grow healthy hair. Your hair care method is very traditional and goes back centuries.
Every time you do a video its like my mom talking to me or teaching me! You just have that motherly feel and wisdom to you. Just so sweet and warm as you try to help us on our hair journey. I just love you to pieces!
Awwww, how sweet! I’m very passionate about helping others. I want everyone to experience what I have. It’s really easy to grow the hair which the concept of my channel. Thanks for your inspiring words.
I am loving your videos. I have been following your hot water and grease method and it works. Can't wait to try this pre-poo hair grease method. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
I been using grease all my life and had not one problem with it but I went on here and people were saying grease is bad don't use it so i stop and used oils, but something told me go back to what u know with my grandmother so I'm back using grease and my old school liv conditioner with wild growth oil. but Ur video was a good lesson for me and makes since so imma have to try this out thank u so much !
I love and deeply appreciate how you've come up with the different examples and ways to show us how this treatment works! I have to admit that it didn't seem likely to work to me, but I had nothing to lose and best of all I had the products already. I can't tell you how surprised I have been. After the first time I thought ok that's this time but I'm thoroughly impressed at just how well this works with so little products and much less effort than other routines. My hair is looking better and better and I can manage it better with this new routine, I thank you for your terrific videos and sharing💜
I have been following you since 2018. Everything you taught me has worked well. There was a time I slow down a my hair started falling out but I got back on top of it. When I started following you my hair was about up to my cheek. Now it is past my collarbone
Hi Mrs.Mississippi, I'm late watching this video but I have been washing every 2 days. I have less breakage and I can see growth. I will definitely try to pre poo with grease because my shampoo makes my hair squeaky clean. You're the best teacher. Keep up the good work for those of us who want to learn. 😉❤️🤗 Love your hairstyle. It's super cute!
Another tip you might find helpful: when I started prépooing with grease I noticed i used way more shampoo to get it off. While it does work to avoid excessive stripping of hair, it was taking me much longer to get off. It then occurred to me to switch to a moisturising shampoo, which doesn’t strip the hair but also gets it clean. As long as the shampoo has sulphate it will get the grease out. Listening to Mrs Mississippi made be understand that it was the sulphate that removed the grease. Hope this helps.
Hello Mrs.Mississippi. I truly wish to thank you for sharing your successful hair growing tips and methods for pte-poing. I have looked, listened, and learned from you. It worked out very well for me. It is definitely an essential step in order to prevent your hair from being stripped. I wanted to compliment you with your protective style in this video It is fire 🔥. You look amazing and instructions are inspiring. Thank you for sharing and peace to you and your family.
I just subscribed to u!! THANK YOU for keeping it REAL!!! Because I had become very frustrated with my hair and not wanting to shampoo it too regularly because it takes forever for the moisture to build back in my hair again it’s like time I shampoo it the next day it is dry and I’m like oh my gosh what is this it’s almost a never ending cycle so I’m going to try this to see if it works for me thank you so much for your willingness to help
Great video it come in time.. I have become a product junkie and I don’t like it, I end up buying so many kind of hair grease including blue magic along with some oils.. I already kind of know what works for me but now I have all this extra products and I was not sure what to do with it, I didn’t want to throw it out, with your idea of using grease to pre po is now something for me to try after I finished all of the extra oils I don’t really need to have. Thank you so much.
Thanks soo much for the advice and the wonderful explanation with experiment! I’m using the pre-poo method with my colored hair and I love it! I did have a problem with the grease getting on my headboard so I will need to find a better head scarf and use a little less grease 😂😁
As my aunt said decades ago, "All you need is water and grease." My mother washed our hair twice a week, and our hair was thick, strong, and beautiful. Most of the hair care, growth videos are click bait. This is real advice.
Thamk you again sis. Do you every 3 days take youre twist out to wash and grease again?. I wash my hair in braids my own hair. Because the twist get unraffeld quikly. Love from Amsterdam the Netherlands.
You're right we gotta figure this thing out!😆! I don't prepoo with anything because I find that I still have plenty of grease in my hair from my previous wash day application (1 week) but maybe because I'm a little too heavy handed with it.😅 So you only need to do one wash with shampoo to get it out of your head?
Thanks for the video this really helps. One question... since you wash your hair every 2 to 3 days could you get away with putting it into maybe 4 twist? It looks like a lot of work with that many twist. My hair is fine and low density and that is the reason I am trying your method to increase my density by correcting the dryness with grease. But I only have my hair in two twist that I redo every 2 three 3 days following your hair grease method. Should I consider more twist? Would that be a healthier way to wear the hair?
I was just thinking the same... I personally don't even like twists, but I'm committed to this natural healthy hair journey. I saw in a video that she does 19 twists (sometimes 12)... and I feel like that's too much for me. Maybe she does that many so the twists will lay down more under the scarves idk. I think I'm going to start out with a number I'm comfortable with.
Ms. Mississippi you and your girls hair is Georgeous, what is your first name? Thank You for your wisdom regarding growing long healthy hair!😊 your girls are precious! I will go back to grease, my hair doesn't hold oils well, my hair is dry, dry, but my scalp has oil on it, was going on? Help me I am natural 4C Low porosity, my name is RHEAD, Pronounced like the color red, God Bless you and your family!!!😊❤❤❤
Hey Mrs Mississippi, I have recently started following your blue magic hair grease and water method. I will also try the hair grease pre-poo too. I'm asking do you prefer the blue or green blue magic hair grease?😊
Are you still using H&S on your scalp with each wash? Will u do a video focusing on prepooing and recommended shampoos if silk elements is unavailable?
Hi, Miss Mississippi how long should the grease be on before washing. And do I use the grease to do my twists. I just saw your video. I lost my daughter last May 2022 and my hair was just coming out. Just been looking for something. Old skool seems to be the best. Thank you.
Hi! It doesn’t matter how long you leave it in. Keep in mind, the grease is just there to protect the hair from the shampoo. I try to leave in at least 30 minutes. You can use the grease to do your twists, but after 2 days they may look dried out. Sorry for your loss 🙏🏽
@@mrs.mississippi5035 Thank you for replying. I appreciate your feedback and value your videos they state pure facts. I may give it a try and see how it goes.
This was so helpful! But what about color treated hair? All the hot water needed to cut the grease wouldn't be very good for color retention.😥 Any suggestions?
I think pre-pooing with grease would be great for your hair. If you use products on your hair, hot water (as hot as you can stand) is needed. It helps instantly cleanse the hair.
When exactly are you adding the hair grease? The title says as a pre-poo & then you show yourself washing/wetting the hair, adding grease & saying wash it out; so, should I add the grease before or after wetting/shampooing hair?
She rinses the hair first with hot water (as hot as you can stand). Then prepoo with grease. Let it sit for an hour or two (with a plastic cap). Rinse again, Then shampoo.
Yes it is. Grease main ingredient is petroleum, which is Vaseline. You can add some oil to it to make it easier to spread on the hair. Works just as good. Hope this helps
You may not need this step. A lot of people that use grease on their hair (including myself) don't do this because we already have grease in our hair from the last application.
