When I first found this video, I had just bought my Traveler and have to say I was overwhelmed. NOW, after some easier tutorials, I find it absolutely genius. I don't know where I'd be on this journey without the generosity of the YT community composers and producers :)

Chris this video was so helpful - thank you for generously sharing your Cubase expertise. I doubt I would have been able to work out how to set up my monogram controller without your in-depth explanation of how to configure it to suit Cubase. I've got mine set up as a control room remote as well as CC controller. BTW I too have a Faderport 8 I agree with you that it's a totally different tool (useful in a different way).

Thanks for the great explanations Chris. I saw Dom’s video too which was also really informative and helpful. There are so many shortcuts on the keyboard I still have to learn and set up. Also being a hobby user not using Cubase every day,, I’m still finding my workflow so I hope soon to be able soon to assess whether an external controller will help me. I have found the iPad app IC Pro amazingly helpful as it can display so many easily assignable macro buttons at once. It works great with control room too. I believe not many people are aware of how useful it is so maybe you could do a video on that some day 😉

What a comprehensive presentation of the Monogram CC, thank you! 🙏 I have been considering the product, but the modules seem to be often out of stock - and at this point I have already built a custom Arduino-based tool for faders and knobs. Do you know if a secondary, delayed MIDI message from a button press / rotating knob is possible in Monogram? - Eero

Hey Chris, thanks again for your great content. Is it now possible to use the slider for example to control the mixer, especially the send levels? When Dom released a video on this it was not pissible... but it seems there was an update since than? Thanks, c-base

I'm still in love with my CC121 Plug and play baby!!! at less than half the price. I do like the portability of the MCC though but I cant justify paying that much for any combo of these controllers mon ami

Looks really very interesting. In my case, I think that I might have problems memorizing all the assignments of the buttons and controls. Especially when I program Monogramm CC for various software products. I would possibly get confused and confuse one with the other. But I think the automatism of the respective operation can be trained 😏 Greetings from 🇩🇪

The Next Profile button at the bottom-left of Chris' setup (see @ 7:08) can be held down to display all the assignments on screen; they'll disappear as soon as you release the button. You can put this button assignment anywhere you like, really. Of course you'll build up muscle memory over time but this provides a quick hint without leaving your DAW :) - Andy @ Monogram

Based on what I see in your tutorial and what I also see now in Cubase Pro 12 on a Mac Studio, a lot of things have changed since this video was created. The generic setup screen in Studio Setup isn't the same and CC commands don't work using your setup instructions. It even says in the Generic Remote setup that "Setup provided on this page will be discontinued". "Monogram Core Module" is what appears in both MIDI In and MIDI Out. Do you or does anyone else know of any information as to how to connect Monogram MIDI CCs to Cubase 12 now? I am not finding any info anywhere. Key commands do work for me, but not MIDI CCs.

My voice started squeaking in cubase I don't know why it was ok before but after I came from my vacations something went wrong. Can you pretty please make a video on how to fix this problem.🤗. I am Sarah Modi I am a singer and a song composer just started i am 14 years old.

OK, this is definitely cool and something that I would absolutely love to have. But the setup in your video would run $850!!! YIKES! I make my living at this but I just can't justify spending that much on some assignable buttons and sliders. Curious if you would have purchased it if you hadn't been given these to review/demo.
@mixdownonline
@mixdownonline 2 года назад
To be honest, If I was only planning on using it with Cubase, I would've started with a smaller setup, but since I am also using it with Premiere, Lightroom, Photoshop, Windows etc... I would've probably ended up with the same setup, but would've started with a smaller setup and add more as I go. I also had physical problems with my right hand for the past years working with the mouse only, so I started to use a USB mousepad with my left hand to go easy on the right hand, but with the MCC, I can work more with my left hand which is it's even better in my case. So yes, I would've, over time. I'm gonna add something important in my case. Producing a video like this one is time and money on my side which ends up being in the same price range overall ;-) So that's why I always review gear I really like or use all the time, if not, it's not worth it for me.

You need the Elgato Streamdeck XL... Blows this thing out of the water from a macro / key command perspective. Obviously the turn based controls on this are not achievable on the Streamdeck (unless you string together key commands e.g. Zoom In)

The Streamdesk is on my list, heard some good stuff. A friend of mine works with both, the Streamdeck and MCC and love them both.

These are the biggest scam price rippoff I've ever seen to date. There is NOTHING you can say to justify the absolutely INSANE off the wall price for a couple of knobs and sliders. These monogram guys are laughing their A$$ off all the way to the bank because you're all suckers big time.

Lol, that's not the definition of a scam, that just means that it's not for you, and that's ok, of course. On my end, the Monogram CC is a tool I work with every day, and I LOVE IT!
