Just having those grips makes them worth using. Much better than pressing your hands flat against the floor, straining your wrists. The fact that they swivel effortlessly also takes away wrist strain, Even if you don't actively twist them (for whatever effect that's supposed to have) they still allow your hands to rotate to whatever is the most comfortable, least stressful position as you do the pushups.

Good video, but the only correct way to use these is to finish the push-up (i.e. the ‘up’, fully extended arm position) with the handles horizontally. Think about throwing a punch…your arm rotates from vertical fist/grip to horizontal. That’s how they were designed by Alden Mills, the creator.

you can actually still work your pecs doing it this way. it doesn't have to be ONE way. People get locked into a one way of thinking when performing exercises that they dont entertain the thought of going outside that box.

I came across an older model of the perfect push up at a thrift store for a $1.50 ,it was a steal...thanks for the tutorial :) , I did 4 sets of 15 with its not too bad.

Thanks for the video. Does it make a difference if you start with your hands horizontal while in the up position and vertical as you go down? Or is it best to start with your hands vertical and twist to horizontal as you go down?

Great video. I have a set of these and I really like them. I have 2 questions: 1) What difference does a wide grip have over a narrow grip with elbows tucked in? 2) What difference does turning your hands clockwise/counter clockwise when you push up make?

Iwhen I go up is when I twist like you would when you throw a punch. And the navy seal who originally made these had a routine you would do in 2 minutes. Maybe start with 8,6,4,2. Complete them in 2 minutes. Then you would go wide grip and close doing the same in 2 minutes of each exercise.👍💪

I use to do 2 sets of 30 push-ups every morning. That was before having a gym membership. A few years ago I got a pair of perfect push-ups. I feel this video will benefit me, in addition to my gym membership

Yo! Bought a similar model, pretty much the same as yours. First 4 days I could only rep 4! Lowered my body to fast destroying my control, but watching this clip helped! Regular push ups are a piece of cake now. Have you bought the other pro products if so is it worth it?

They also help reduce wrist and elbow joint pain if this is something you struggle with. My wrist joints hurt a lot doing regular pushups with my palms flat on the floor. I don't get any joint pain using these.

i just bought this item because i'm really lazy when it comes to push-ups thinking this was going to motivate me more but is hard is more easy to get injure and they move a lot they dont stay in one firm position they rotate even if you dont want them to totate

the intention of the design is for the twisting purposes you can execute the push ups without twisting if you choose the twist works forearms as well plus i feel extra engagement in the long head of the tricep

The twisting also added more definition to my upper chest quickly to where regular push-ups wasn’t. Also they are good for when u want to end your set with more difficulty and adds much more variety. Try doing a set of all twist push-ups then do a regular with the last few being twisted ones. I feel like the twisting insures that you go to failure. Sorry for all of the writing but this is an excellent design

You're doing it exactly the opposite of how it was designed. Your movement should look like a punch with your thumbs facing outward in the bottom position and your thumbs facing inward at the top. This reduces shoulder impingement and gives you much more range of motion. You are using very little range of motion and doing the movement backwards

Rich External & internal rotation of the shoulder. People usually don’t utilize the proper movement of the shoulder during pushups & this can help activate more muscles in the shoulder if done properly.

I would have thought so, too, but my bro has a pair and now that my gym is closed, he's letting me use them. If nothing else, they give your hands a good (rubber coated) grip, rather than having your hands pressed flat on the floor, straining your wrists. In your pecs, it actually feels a little like doing bench presses.
