Love Mufasa I agree... It just feel silly when I use :/ other machines I can feel the muscles getting engaged when properly used.. Fuuuuuckkkk lol.

helps to flex your back.. it will take time if you don't have much muscle but always try to get the mind body connection going.. try lower weight and really feeling the flex..

I have been using a similar machine doing sets of 360 five times. Was also a gymnast in the past. Love....lats are the hardest set of muscles to actually feel engaging and using. Try increasing the weight to where you can do a set of five. If you don't feel your lats,, you probably wont, you know you are engaging them. My experience is building lats is a very subtle activity, unlike say bicept curls which is very obvious.

For that machine you don't lean back it's designed for a straight torso and you pulldown and point your elbows back and make sure to control the weight on the way up.

not necessarily true you can lean back a little as long as you keep your chest up to put more emphasis on the mid laterals as your pulling down
