Same here I was bummed about it too I asked the salesman when I was test driving it why they got rid of the sport mode because it used to just be a gear past drive I believe which I loved because when you're taking off you kind of pull back on it and it feels like you're getting some acceleration out of the thing but anyway his response was yeah that stinks lol he didn't even know that it was on the shifter. Of course
Just got this Altima and was kinda sad it didn’t come with sport mode but everything else fully loaded but then just seen this video on how to activate the shift pads and noticed u click a sport mode button, that just made my day 🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@TheRealCountryBoyModz yea man they actually didn’t tell me anything about the car it was a little weird, I just learned everything on my own but this just made it 10x better for me I’m loving the Altima
Man I had no idea how to use these things when I got mine. At least now I know that its mostly just for fun and wont save you gas. Thanks for this video
My SR Turbo is a fucking blast to use with paddles. I love it. I even enjoy it more than my ‘07 350z and my ‘00 Mustang GT. The first time I test drove I fell in love. There was no way I was downgrading to any other trim level. It’s a low key car and completely catches people off guard. It has so much torque honestly. I let each ‘gear’ in high rpm and let that turbo spool up… let it rip. It’s honestly a beast.
I’ve had my 2021 Nissan Altima for over a year and my son in law told me the other day (after driving my car) that I have sport mode and manual on my car, I had no idea 😅😅😅
Nice, thank you for this info. Just bought this car, didn't know how to use them. Another question left, where is located steering wheel heating? I will be thankful if someone can tell me.
You’re welcome and it should be located where your ac settings are if equipped here is a video reference for its location ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gc7c0D4aY0E.html hope this helps
I wanted the SR pretty bad but then I saw that the SR model doesn’t come equipped with fog lights, adaptive cruise control, the self driving on the highway feature, GPS, or the boss sound system so I ended up going with the SL turbo instead just sucks that it doesn’t have paddle shifters
Dang they got you…. Fog lights could be added for cheaper than dealership price, I have the cruise control, don’t have the self drive feature, for GPS Apple car play, don’t have Bose but the speakers in mine sound better than Bose to me. At least you got the VC-Turbo model.
@@elliestarrco i don’t have the car no more lol ended up selling it for $29,000 and I also sold my 2015 mustang GT for $21,000 and went and dropped $50,000 as a down payment on a 2018 BMW M5 that I got for $67,000 it was a bad financial decision but I mean I’m only 28 gotta atleast own one of my dream cars atleast once in my life lol
@@TheRealCountryBoyModz thanks man appreciate it will definitely keep watching the channel though💪🏻 love the content mine and the wife’s plan is too hopefully pay off the M5 by the end of the year and hopefully by then the new face lifted Altima will be released and will definitely be getting onother one it will definitely be the SR this time though since I need those paddle shifters, I have a friend that owns a dyno shop here in California and he was able to get my Altima up to 315 crank HP after adding intakes and upping the boost it took a lot of cars by surprise only thing that was missing though was the paddle shifters for roll racing and I also hope that hopefully they start making more aftermarket performance part for the Altima would definitely make a good sleeper
@@IamRemoWilliams nice you definitely will enjoy it I only had one issue so far but it was covered under warranty but overall it’s a great car you can expect things to happen with any car new or old just make sure you take car of it and it will take care of you
Just to get it straight, so if I shift manual mode while on sport mode, it does not goes back to D as in normal mode. So it just keeps in manual mode as long as i switch it back. Right?
I own a 2016 Altima SR with paddle shifters too. I wonder sometimes if using them more frequently will help to extend the life of our CVT's? The one thing I do hate about about the Altima gear box though is that you can turn off the motor without having to put your car into park. My Mazsa 6 Sport was also the same way.
I build transmissions for a living and I also own a 2020 Altima. It’s just changing the ratio of the pulley. These “gears” are preset ratios that you can choose from, when you change “gears” It simply moves to a different ratio. It does allow you to utilize the cars full rev range in this preset ratio and kinda simulates gear changes, but It’s honestly more of a gimmick than anything and pretty much defeats the purpose of the CVT. It’s kinda cool to mess with, but you more than likely will never use it. It’s still a 188hp car with a CVT, these aren’t designed to even be slightly fast
I honestly go off of engine sound… if you’ve ever driven a stick before you can hear and feel when it needs to be shift. I also studied the normal drive mode simulated shift points that way you can play around and learn it for the manual simulation mode. However, if you are full throttle it will shift on its own but power shift it at 6krpm. If you want it to sound like a manual from first gear go all the way up to 4k let off gas then shift and pretty much do the same with each gear. Once you get the feel of it you will know when you’ve found the sweet spot.
Bro i have altima 2020 too but i have no idea yet how to drive with paddle shift. Could you please make another video explaining what happens when we press down shifter on a normal driving mode and can we go higher gear on normal mode and when on sport mode when to up shift on gears
I cant up shift for some reason when i go sport mode when switching from normal mode, i can only downshift but when the car is at still, i can up shift that time. And one more thing as you showed in video that if we press up shift on a normal driving mode we can see our which gear are we in, it doesnt work on mine what works is downshift when on a normal mode which is also pretty different from sport mode
Yes I like it more now that I added my touch to it but there were times in the beginning I wanted to change for something else. However, I am two years in having the Altima and it’s been the best decision so far!
@@TheRealCountryBoyModz i feel you could possibly just find some and a scrap yard get the computer for em than install them to my car but I don't know if there's a specific programming or part need in the transmission to allow quick shifts like such would be amazing in a 6-speed if possible bc if I can get a sequence gear box without changing the entire transmission would save a finger or 2🤣
Hey. Bro just a quick question how does your manual gear works and the car is stopped It happens at 4:50 i have a nissan altima but it will turn back to normal drive mode below 10KM/H
The way it works with my Altima is if you press the sport button on gear shift first then tap the paddle manual mode will stay engaged even while stopped… however just pressing the paddles without sport mode being engaged it will go back to normal when stopped.
I have the 2.5L and it’s governed to top at 120 but it can do way more than that and the vc turbo has 180 on the dash and tops out around 150 sum then it’s governed.
@@TheRealCountryBoyModz it doesn’t, I recently took my 2.0 VC- Turbo for a ride on empty patch of road and managed to push it to nearly 160, 157 to be exact
@@The0319Love yep that sounds about right which is pretty good. I would love to swap a vc turbo engine in mine but I wanna see what all I can really do with this 2.5 for now
@@TheRealCountryBoyModz ny 2011 nissan altima coupe 6-speed is alot more of a race car than whatever you think "shifting" a continuous variable transmission is you tripping bud
@@GTCloud_9 it’s a race car 🤣….we all know it’s a family sedan no need to be going back and forward about what my video was about. Also don’t sleep on the new six gens they are not slow as you think even with the cvt and if your 2011 six speed is a 3.5 congratulations 🎉 enjoy your race car because you can definitely do more to it.
@@TheRealCountryBoyModz it's not a racecar as much as you wanna believe it, CVT transmissions are and will always be made for motorcycles and 4 wheelers never a car, they simply as hard as they try arnt even as close to as reliable as an actual gear transmission, and both 3.5 and 2.5 are considered race especially a streamlined tuned out coupe like mine just simply fucks everyone up out there keeping up with mustangs and hellcats I doubt as hard as you little cvt trys it could get to as close of the power of a mustang even though its got 4 pistons they kicking everyone ass😆not a single person with a cvt I've been against even have a chance, cvt are simply not for cars
