This series has been VERY helpful to me Frank. I have 5 different OS's up and running. Still a lot to learn but this really helps with the learning curve. I hope you do a lot more of them and switch over to version 5 also.
+Joe Tittiger Thanks Joe. I really appreciate that. I'll probably update this series later for version 5 after they get some more of the bugs worked out.
More GOLD Frank ! Keep up the good work. The natural progression video, is converting your tailored machine state to an ISO that can be used as an install or live boot, USB stick. Effectively creating your own distro for mass deployment of archiving. Have you ever experimented with "Remastersys", its a hidden gem. It's a bugger to find but works well on Mint 17.1

I wanted to know can a snapshot repair a disk, when the vdi hard disk becomes inaccessible. I have had a couple times when the vdi hard disk became inaccessible and I wanted to know if a snapshot can help with the repair.
+Margaret Darden Quick answer is no. The snapshot just records differences from the main disk. If the main disk itself is corrupted things wont work. You can backup the main disk by doing an export of the entire vm. That way you will have a complete backup you can re-import if needed. Hope that helps.
