This path demonstration has dramatically improved my drives. I'm finally understanding the motion of staying on one side and not twisting or turning over. Couple that with pushing with my dominant arm/hand instead of pulling with my weak has gave me straighter and longer shots with many more greens and fairways hit. Thank you Marcus!
I have been plagued with the pull hook my entire golfing life now using your method I am trying to hit draws and succeeding with my misses being pushes I have just begun watching your videos so I have not yet tried hitting a driver but so far its been a really easy transition :) hope your feeling better 🙏
This is one of the times where there's a big difference between feel and real. Your hands are connected to your arms and body, and there's only so far out they can go; your arms and body will bring your hands around.
Hi Marcus,, I've just discovered you through golf test dummy.. and like him I've been trying every swing I think could help me,, Moe's,,, Hand feel too stiff and the shaft in the middle of my grip was promoting right side push,, Channel Lock,,,, was too yoga, twisting to get an inside out but straight at the target swing.. Jim venelos,,,, Seemed to be the best for me,, but I still get a big draw,, too much half the time,, I watched your Vid yesterday and I was Pleasantly surprised,, I've played golf for 40 yrs,, I've always had a push/ right hand dominate swing,, I've tried to change it as I though it was not the right swing for me.. I've just realized that my natural swing is just like yours,, I have a small draw on my standard shots,, even my driver is a draw, but again sometime too much,, I can't turn over the wrists ,,, it's always push up.. that may be due to my Baseball grip,, I do that because I have nerve damage in my left hand and can't have my right hand touching my left index or thumb knuckle. I've come back to my natural swing ( your swing), ,, I just want to hear from you as to why I still draw a bit too much?Is my set up and stance the reason,, ?? my irons are back in stance and closed, or right of the flag.. Driver is just forward of center and parallel to target. ?? or do I inadvertently close my club face too much in the down swing?? Thanks for your Vid' by the way, and your time,,
Thanks for watching. I'm sure that your hands are twisting little through impact and that's why you get that "big" draw. If you feel more out and up after impact it will probably be more manageable..
Happy New year. Thanks for great golf videos. I’m constantly hitting pull draws. I guess my path isn’t enough in to out. What would be the best way to get the path further out? Is it less shoulder turn or releasing sooner. Thanks again for all you help. 🎉🎉
Eliot, thank you. In the start from the top you rotate too much before your arm starts down. Timing is everything and in this case the timing between arms and body rotation. Keep trying, 2023 is going to be great. 👍
such a simple swing. thank you for the share coach. I started hitting a lot of heel shots, is that normal at the beginning or am I doing something wrong?
Many times when we do a change in the swing we need to calibrate our impact. Use this video as a guide: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5nKVHg_GGXc.htmlsi=VsyabhJ7raKRGNiX
Marcus excellent teaching! Curious if you were swinging right handed on this hole, what shot would you play ? Thanks for all you have done to help my swing.

Hi Marcus I am hitting the ball pretty nicely. It seems to be coming with a nice draw or fade. My question is when you're playing to the green, are you playing with those in mind using the draw or fade or straight to the target?
I have a hard time trusting a fade. If I had more time to practice I would try to become comfortable with both but at the moment I only go for a pin that I could reach with my normal draw.
@@leer798 I have been working on it for awhile, but the last piece of the feel of the swing going up instead of at the target clicked today. And it was magic!!!
Hi Marcus, thank you for doing these videos. I experimented with the "push and swinging out" and I got some progress with driver as I saw more draws which I've always struggled to do. However with irons, I feel maybe I'm not interpreting this push concept correctly. Does "push" mean release and feel that with your dominant hand? Or is it swinging down and striking the ball with the feel of your dominant palm facing down? Thank you!
Watch part 5 and I will tell you more about differnt clubs. How to use your hands, part 5/5. Irons vs driver… ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dAb7sFf1Zio.html
@@MarcusEdbladGolf hey Marcus, hope you're doing well. I just wanted say I've been to the range several times since my last reply and I'm seeing results. I'm hitting shots with more draw spin then I ever have before without really trying too. I'm not there yet, still too erratic, but contact is all in all better and gained some distance too. It's working and it's fun developing this mindset. Thank you!
Marcus, how does an open stance promote the in to out swing path vs a slight closed stance? And in your open stance, are your hips and shoulders parallel to the target line?
Hi Earl. The open stance helps you use the pushing power of your trail side. If you block the trail side with your stance it will be hard to do a good release. Hips and shoulders are normally slightly opened or straight. If you in your mind can separate the club path from your aim you can hit any shot in the book and that is the goal.
Watching your Hands series, finding it very interesting, my only concern is the draw. I know most (myself among them) golfers tend to slice, especially the driver. I will certainly apply your instructions, thank you. However there are the question about the Fade, I see a lot of really good golfers applying the baby fade and very successfully so. To the point where they utilize the draw only on special occasions. Will you, or have you, covered the technique for hitting a controlled fade? Thank you for all you do here.
Hi. I will not teach fade in video but I do it live. I focus on the draw for many reasons. Firstly the draw is a shot where we can use all fast smaller muscles and big strong to gain speed. Fade is more of a rotation driven swing and me and a lot of seniors can't rotate fast enough to produce distance with a fade. I can hit a fade but instantly loose 15% distance or more. There is nothing wrong with a fade in my mind but it's very inefficient mechanically, we are not using our full potential as humans. To learn and be good in hitting both draw and fade takes a lot of time and not many have that time and mixing them in my videos will make it very complicated for my viewers. There are both faders and drawers among the best in the world but they all know that a draw will produce longer distance and I want to deliver long and straight not almost long and straight. 😊
If you pull the club from one side to the other it will be at path to the inside. If you keep it on one side of you it will be easier to swing out/forward.
In the end everything will be effected by rotation and go back in. My trail hand needs to move out in relationship with my lead hand to get the club to do what's needed.
Marcus, I started playing golf 30 years ago at 30 years old. You’re the only guy who has made golf like hitting a baseball for me. Man I wish I knew you when I started - would have easily been hitting it 300 plus. But, hell I’ll take 270 at 60 years old. 😂
