Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This RU-vid channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

my average warm up routine: 1. Putting round about 5min for getting a feel 2. short chip/pitch shots from 5 to 60m 3. some longer shots with P/9/8 iron 4. some even longer shots with 7/6/5 iron 5. some 5wood an driver shots 6. absolutely nail every shot, feeling extremely confident, perfect straight shots, sometimes a tiny little fade 7. go to the first tee, take out a safety iron 5, practice swing and routine feels perfect again 8. Quickhook the shit out of the golfball into the woods

Tried a version of this last weekend and found it to be of benefit. Think I had closer to 15 minutes, but the quick progression on the clubs got the ol' motor running without feeling like I was gearing up for a range session. Incredibly, I kept my opening drive in the fairway which is unusual, so there's gotta be something to this.

This is what I do every time I go to the range, for both practice and for warm-ups before playing: (Bear in mind, I am a beginner.) -Start off with some simple stretches to get my body loose. Back rotation, shoulder range of motion, etc. I don't even take a minute for this, it's just quick simple movement. - Take out my 9 iron and take a few half practice swings. Get my body used to the motion. -Time to hit the ball, sets of threes with various clubs. Hit three balls with a club, then switch club and repeat. Don't pay attention to where the ball goes or how it flies, just focus of ballstriking. I typically go 9 iron, 6 iron, Hybrid (in my case, 3-Hybrid), short wood (in my case, 5-Wood). -Finally, scrimmage practice. Start making up holes in my head. Take out my driver or a long iron and take a tee shot, follow that up with what should be a reasonable iron or wedge shot (depending on if I'm imagining a par 3,4, or 5). Repeat this until I am out of balls. Once I've used up my practice balls, it's time to tee off. I've found good success with this, so I thought I'd share it here.

My warm up usually begins with a nice jog from my car to the club house to pay for the round, because I only have 6 mins before my tee time. Then I work on hand eye coordination while driving my cart and swerving through the parking lot, avoiding people, to get my clubs from my truck. I then work on balance and coordination while heading to the first tee box with my clubs in the front seat (no time to strap them in) and putting my golf shoes on at the same time. 🤷‍♂️

Personally warm up is ensuring my skIlls are there. Draw, fade, high, low, stingers both ways, etc. On chipping green I ensure all my shots are dialed in, from flop shot to basic chip. I putt a bit, hitting 25-30 footers and 3 footers. I have a large enough arsenal of shots (I know every shot) so I just ensure everything's oiled. I give myself an hour before the round to do this.
