I have both bought and been gifted express dress socks and have found them to be a great mainstay. Classic patterns with poppy colors made it easy to match almost anything. They tend to go on sale quite a bit too, which is the only time I buy them.
T.J. Max is a great place to buy men's socks. You can buy a pack of polo dress socks (usually 4-6 pairs) for around $10 to $13. Its also a great place for casual and athletic socks.
Only recently found your site/youtube and want to say a big thank you. Since joining the site I've donated 5 bags of clothes and am much happier with a more streamlined wardrobe. Cheers
drewbiedrewbie That's so awesome! Love hearing these stories. Thanks for writing in to tell us! We're busy strategizing and working to make the product better and better. More great features to come!
With respect to business/professional attire, you can't go wrong with Goldtoe Metro OTC socks in dark colors. They look great, are good quality, and packs are very affordable (at Dillards, JC Pennys, etc.).
***** I'd usually recommend ankle socks with casual sneakers. If your pants will mostly cover it though, then you can pull off something higher. As far as darning socks - if it's somewhere where the repairs will show even when you have a shoe on, I'd say just pitch the sock and get some new ones. If you have a deep attachment to that specific pair of socks…. then I don't think anyones opinion on the matter will change that. ~ Alison
No holy socks. You should replace at that point of wear. Can you imagine what that says about you if say you're over someone's house or your girlfriend's place, get comfy on the couch, kick of you shoes and have holes in your socks. Shell just think you are cheap or don't care how you dress. You can buy a pack of three to six pairs of decent socks for $10 bucks or less. But seriously, these guys gotta be joking. Being a guy sometimes I have no shame. Having a hole in your socks isn't a big priority with us guys sometime. 😆
+james smith I agree. I always match my sock to my shoe. Brown socks with brown shoes, black socks with black shoes, etc. White athletic socks with sneakers only but NEVER wear white socks with all black sneakers or black shoes unless you plan on doing the moonwalk down the street.
