Wrapping helmet with Oracal 9000 series. Very tough job :) Sticky as hell and no airchannels. More videos about wrapping - • Kia Soul Wrap 3M 1080 ... • Wrapping Mirror 3M 180
this is an excellent example of vinyl wrapping! Thank you so much for posting this! I don't think I'm going to be fully wrapping much, but it gives me a good idea of how to work with contoured objects.
Just a thought, but since the intent of this video is to be instructional, maybe next time avoid the annoying music and explain what you are doing, materials used, etc. Other than that, very nice job.
this blue tape is 3M tape for car painting and this red stripe is the same vinyl as the white or black one witch i used in helmet wrap, just cutted 5mm thin. Hope my answer will help you.
What an amazing video. I am inspired! I noticed that a lot of the commentators have a lot of the same question, regarding tape, material, etc. Any chance you might consider posting tools, material, even brands in the description section?
The Blue tape is fine line masking tape, comes in a variety of thicknesess, the red is fine line edging tape. 3M is the better fine line tape, has good adhesive properties. I've been a custom painter for years and swear by 3m, its not just a marketing gimmick, it really is the best stuff.
it is possible. But.... Depending on the outcome you are looking for . design and such doing it in sections is a huge time saver and frustration saver. But with the right vinyl you can do it.
What kind of vinyl wrap should I look for? Do the car wraps work on helmets or is it a special wrap for helmets? Will the VViViD+ Premium Vinyl Wrap Film work?
Hello. ViVid is more for USA market and as i know - cheap one. Best is Avery and 3M. car wrap film is used for helmets too, there is no special material specific to helmets only.
It's fine line tape... but you would be better off using knifeless tape. It takes a LOT of practice to cut through the vinyl without cutting into the helmet's graphic/paint. Knifeless tape is the same size, but cuts the vinyl from below, so it is impossible to cut into the helmet.
What a missed opportunity!! You could make millions prepping motorcycle helmets for NFL Logos and markings!! Especially Niner Seahawk Eagle and Cowboy helmets. How could you not know this??
After watching the pros do it, You use the heat gun way to much. I know its hard wrapping a helmet with only the 1 person. At least you wore a glove like most youtube wrappers that do not. But you still did a nice looking wrap.
This video should be titled "How to make a sweet helmet look blah" sorry but all of my local shops sell black, grey and silver. Nothing with cool designs and color. I am curious of the materials used and would have liked an explanation of the techniques used in the video tho cause all kidding aside it did turn out cool I just liked it better before.
