Hi Scott, another interesting video. I'm the guy who made your spring bender grippy-thing and it's nice to see you adding CNC to your repertoire. All the best!
HEY, awesome. I totally lost your email and wanted to thank you. it worked perfectly. I'm not sure if you intended to change the design but it actually works better than the original! Now that I have a CNC machine, I know how complex of an item that is to manufacture and I'm not sure if I would even want to make one myself.
yes, it is more involved than I realized myself. This is just a taste of what is involved as well. I did 3 months of research and consulting before I even go to this point.
Fun fact - 10x is because gravity is ~10m^2 here on earth. That means if you weigh 100lbs and gravity pulls you with max acceleration you can exert 1000lbs (10x) of force due to gravity
The new trucks are a lot taller than the trucks made 5-10 years ago. they are going from 16" rims to 18 and 20s and even some are 22" rims, so even just with the tire size changes, it raises the trucks a few inches, that's not even including the box, body, suspension changes they have made to the trucks. So, it is just 1 of a few options to level out your truck/trailer combination.
If you lower the truck 2" then you will probably end up riding on the bump stops when you are towing something like a 5th wheel trailer. We have tried that in the past with a truck or two and ended up causing as many problems or more than what we where solving. So, we opted for the lift block.
