Years later I am still watching your videos George, I was watching your videos before I had any machinery, I now have quite a lot of machines and business is going well, I'm 24 from England and am constantly thinking of new ways to make money and your videos are insightful and I like the mindset of keep moving forward and evolving. I took delivery yesterday of a new Husky Ride on the RC318T and have work lined up for it in the next few weeks. It's 11:12pm and I'm sat next to that new mower designing flyers to hand out to all the large properties in the local area or just out on my travels in the truck. Keep the videos coming in 2022. Hi George thank you for commenting. If you don't mind me asking how old are you ? I am so glad that you're following my videos and I hope that you are making money hand over fist. My goal when I started this channel was to help people make money in this industry, instead of being looked down upon. It sounds to me like you're doing everything you're supposed to. To the very best and I hope you stay in contact with me. I will do more videos but right now I am Balls to the walls racing to make a buck, sound familiar ?
@@GPackard That does sound familiar and I am 24, I started January 2021, I also have a range of other machinery such as a 120hp Massey tractor and a range of implements for that, I focus on Equestrian customers mainly and am now covering a good portion of Southern England. I also do a variety of work as I used to work for different contractors from when I left school at 16 from Arborists to Agricultural Contractors to Groundworkers, so now I combine all three of those industries into my business. I always look forward to whenever you post another video, I know some of it is more relevant to the US but I pick what I can out such as general business advise and how to deal with certain situations and customers. One for instance is your video on things "you've never done to customers who didn't pay" wink wink. I had a customer who didn't want to pay a (I'll convert to $) $4500 invoice for over a weeks arborist work clearing up storm damaged trees that had come down all over the property. In the end they did. But I had a few of your "suggestions" lined up 😂. Hope you keep in good health George 🤙🏻 All the best, George, Maton Paddock Care
Self discipline is EVERYTHING! I been in the game since 2007 -never really felt the recession either! I felt like if i can grow and prosper in those times with minimal experience then i can grow anytime with 15 years in. I dont spend money on things that dont make me money! I have about 90 customers with 112 properties mowing grass - I finally bought a used bobcat t190 in 2019 for $20k- Man a FREAKING game changer -been able to save up another $40k for the next skid steer and all the while buying mowers and trailers to support the lawncare side of things! Biggest issue has been labor ! Now im ready to upgrade skid steer but cant find a new one available and refuse to pay 40k for a machine with 3000hrs on it ! So now i wait -earning grinding and banking all my money for that elusive skid steer and being patient is critical to being self employed - great topic George!!
Excellent commentary there George, been following you since 2012 and you and Johnny Mow I think give the best, no BS content in our field. . Do you plan of having some more content in 2023?
Richard I see it all the time they've got money for scratch off tickets, cigarettes ,alcohol, and tons of junk food, but they just can't seem to find a way to put any money away. Life is about changes and people need to make them if they want to be successful.
Thank you my brother I appreciate you taking the time to leave the nice words like always, keep the faith and stay safe. Have a great season my friend.
All the time. It seems like people have money for cigarettes alcohol and drugs I want to comes to fixing up their place suddenly they run a little short.
I think you always want more, and by that I mean I would love to provide for my adult children, as well as my grandchildren, my parents my brothers my sisters, all of my coworkers, create my own Humane Society for dogs, be a refuge for horses and donkeys believe it or not and the list goes on. I think you always find something that you wish you could make better in this world, and there is plenty of them around.
@@GPackard I admire that. I am finally a millionaire, my business spits off six figures, but my motivation to keep grinding hard is going down and I’m only 40. Being generous with loved ones does help the motivation though. Thanks for your input.
The black man has nothing to do with being poor. Maybe what I should have done was put a full color picture of me there instead, as I was once a very poor man. As much as I want my channel to be open to everyone with no censoring, I draw the line when I hear racist comments like this . Here's your chance to apologize and I'll let it go . If not then I'll ban you from my channel forever, your call ?
