Great video. Question, I'm replacing my ebike pcb board. The replacement has 7 holes/copper rings for wiring. Bu my original has 6 - 5V, GND, SP, H1, H2, and H3. The replacement has an additional ring for wiring labeled "K". What does K stand for in this case? Keyswitch, ohms, resistance? Can't find any information or diagrams online. And if I solder/connect the "regular" wires, will I have a problem if I leave "K" unsoldered? No info online + could use the help. /bklyn 👑
would you be able to analyze a controller or get the specifications for one? I have a minimotors dualtron Storm limited and it feels like a controller issue, because it doesn't reach 74 mph. the top speed it can reach is about 50 mph ( GPS ). when riding out feels like the power is being withheld to the motors. perhaps you have an idea?
could you tell me is it possible to reset the controllers mine has come up with a warning control protection and a red engine management light ,i have disconnected everything left for a few hrs but still getting the warning messages

Hi, i buyed a ebike kit taht comes with a Normal controller (no lcd display) but it would be very useful to me to have it with the LCD so i can control the power of the motor on PAS. Because on PAS, the motor always accelerates to full power, and sometimes i don´t need it. Is there a way to transform the normal controller into a LCD controller? Or a way to have a 3 mode power control switch somewhere?
Alexandre Costa I think a v3 cycle analyst will. Or you can put a potentiometer in series with the shunt. You may need to put a resistor in parallel with the pot as well because the shunt has a very low resistance. Maybe some trial and error. You can also just buy a new controller. Just match the volts and watts (or amps) ebay or Alibaba has stuff for cheap.

have a Schwinn scooter and I dont think I have those brown wires etc. The throtttle wres are 5 or 6 colors and run from throttle to ECU. Also all motors dont have that brake cutofff do they? My bike quit on me the other day and I still dont know how I fixed it. My throttle lights still dont work (Fuel guage?) WHen I speed up to medium hi..the amber lite comes on. THATS IT. It used to come on nd stau on. Also my fuse has two "tongues?" The 40a fuse I got just had two tonguelike things side by side. Not at rt angles to each other. Hence..it wont fit.
I had a doubt, as by using a potentiometer we are varying the voltage input to adjust the speed of the motor, so does the power of the motor also vary accordingly ? Like if we reduce the speed, is the overall power reducing too ?
We can maintain the power of the motor by reducing the voltage and increasing the current, since power is a product of voltage x current. By reducing the voltage and increasing the current we can reduce the speed and increase the force( torque ) of the motor
Question: I have a Ecotric Hammer, 48 Volt, I want to use a 52 volt battery with. Is there any reason why the 48 volt controller would be damaged by this?

The Landian LCD display of my bike stopped showing the speed. It stays at zero even though I am on full throttle. Where and what should I be looking at? Is this a function of the LCD, controller (i got a new one by the way but still the problem persists), or the motor?
Hey John, I'm not familiar with the Landian. It is definitely not a function of the motor. Depending on how much you can control the settings on the LCD, it make just be a settings problem. If you got a new controller and still have the same problem, it's a faulty LCD. Send me more info and perhaps I can help.

Hello friend I when I bought this ebike kit.. I already had the battery 72 v 18ah I sent a message on eBay to the seller I pleat that had a battery 72 v 18ah the seller said it works well.. But in the kit has no discretion at all
of course you can, but for wich pourpose? You can connect the motor directly to the battery and setting it on/off just with a switch but Your motor will not find it so nice, the same as your battery will last not so long.
Could someone please help I bought a conversion kit 36 48 volt ebike at I installed it and just to check to see if it worked I use a 12 volt battery I'm getting power to the throttle the red light comes on and it's going through the controller and I'm getting the red light on the throttle ,No yellow light and no green light on the throttle. Anyway the power goes through the controller and and I only get power to the headlight wire we're running lights. Could just be that I'm only running on 12 volts from the battery? And maybe I put my controller in sleep mode?? Is there someone that can help me with this out there thank you in advance for your time.
You can not run one of these on 12 volts. It takes at least 15 volts to power the MOSFET drive circuitry. Also, to protect the battery from extremely deep discharge, the controller will not typically even run below 30 or so volts.

This is child's basics so why waste time. You need a follow up video explaining what most bikers need. Which is explaining the purpose of each component inside. How to recognise it visually then replace it according to basic diagnostics. Eg my hub motor had water in it causing the voltage regulator to blow. What does a voltage regulator look like so it can be ordered and replaced.

Got a serious problem. I tried to be a genius, and connect a gps tracker to the 12V DC output on the motor control unit which is intended for use with a torch. Since doing that im getting error code 10 which means communication error, typically this translates to a loose wire. Straight up disconnected gps then tried else everything to sort this. Checked connections many times, checked all capacitors in the computer box(mcu), checked wiring in the hub motor everthing seems connected correctly very stuck, dont know what it wants from me. Maybe its a factory reset job not sure.....Any suggestions?.
2 things. I've seen this many times before. Make sure the connection to your controller is correctly mounted and tight. The #10 communication error is that there is an error communicating with your controller. Are you using an LCD? The second problem is that you may have done damage to your controller. This is very common. If you know how to test your controller, check possible voltage break downs. If after troubleshooting you can't identify the problem, order a new controller with higher amperage. They are the least expensive part of an ebike. I can help more if you let me know the components you are working with.

This video doesn't say more than what you learn when you buy a controller. It explains what a controller does but not how it does it. Completely useless!
Thanks Antoine, Your opinion is pretty subjective. This video may be utterly useless to you, however there are other viewers who have found this information helpful. This is a video describing in a generic way the role of the controller in ebikes. If you are looking for more detailed information about a specific controller and it's connections, I am sure that information is available on the web. There are thousands of different controllers and specifications for each made each year. If so compelled we could devote an entire channel to reviewing every controller, but have not gotten there yet. I wish you luck on your quest for the information you need and would caution you about so easily categorizing information as useless. We are all trying hard to bring value to others and this channel has taken a lot of hard work. Best of luck!
