you don't need this hub/controller if you have built-in hub in cabinet and motherboard with argb header. i just bought a cabinet with no hub and motherboard with no argb header so now here searching for this.

the only male connectors in the controller is the power up of the rgb fans. If you are talking about that step the other side is female connector. (4:11)

if you have 2 rgb headers, connect both in each header and synchronize them via the masterplus software.

In that video i connect the controller to a mobo with RGB(4pin) connector. Only If you want to control the lighting via software, for example Masterplus, you need to connect it with the usb header. With the connection with argb header you will control it via your Motherboard.

I exactly the question I have right now. My motherboard has a 4-pin RGB header but my cooler has 3-pin ARGB. Can I connect the controller to the 4-pin header on the motherboard and 3-pin fans to the controller and control the lighting through motherboard software?

@@Dominatorri ARGB uses 5 Volt while RGB uses 12 Volt.

@@Anonymous-wl2xx I purchased a Razer Chroma fan controller on Amazon. I plugged the fans' power cable to the motherboard's fan header. And for the RGB, I connected the fans to the controller.

As i said to a friend before i had connected some Deepcool fans to a friend's pc and they all worked fine. But i cannot guarantee for other brands.

in the video i was using the coolermaster software. But right now i am controlling it via the motherboard. It is better

@@owlunboxing1283 can the cooler master software control some part of the motherboard argb if they are sync together? such as the ram and the nvme argb? currently I'm using Asrock polychrome to control the Argb lightning & there too many bugs on the software. I'm planning to get one of this cooler master controller

​@@Heaven-will-Wait I have managed to control everything via MasterPlus except the motherboard's built-in lighting. I am talking about Asus motherboard. I don't know if with Asrock will be better or worse.

Setup is almost same as yours except using ARGB Header (+ Asus Header on the other side) and intentionally avoided Reset Connector, Case Reset & Thermal Connector. Prior purchasing this product Asus Aura Sync unable to recognize and control Case Front Fans (200mm) and the CPU Heatsink Fan. However ARGB's are working fine (1 Static Mode). Now after installing this the latest version of the Materplus unable to detect this product though it updated the firmware. Using older version of MasterPlus 1.6.9 and able to control though Fan Models and CPU Heatsink models are not included while setting up. Any suggestion mate?

I had the same problem and used this to address it. I now have 5 ARGB case fans, a case accent light and the water block head all on this thing. The only thing I wish it did was to link up with Mystic Light(or other RGB software). It can only link up to software if you already have an ARGB headers on your MoBo. I only have 12V RGB headers on my B450, so it would only do one color at a time, defeating the entire point of ARGB. The saving grace is that this can do Rainbow and a few other built in patterns automatically, so it's doing what I was going to tell it to do anyway, but it won't be changed by Mystic Light. Buttons only, and it's in the back of my case, so not too accessible. I've looked everywhere for something that can add ARGB headers to a MoBo without them, but this is as close as I've come. Unless I'm doing something wrong, because I bought it thinking it would be detected by the USB cable, but I think it's just getting 5V power from that, and the rest of the power is from the SATA power connection.

​@@hybridcheef110 By connecting to RGB/ARGB header Masterplus software will allow you to make all ligths connected to controller sync with motherboard light tecnology (ASUS AuraSync, RGB Fusion...). You can controll RGB and ARGB lights with software + usb cable but to sync with mobo you should connect 12v header and/or 5v header. If one of those is not connected you can't sync with mobo but still can chose color and effect on Masterplus software for RGB and ARGB devices connected to controller.

no it is not. U can connect the splitter direct to argb header

Without the controller you can choose from few predefined color modes and Speed of LED lighting etc. With this controller you can customize up to 4 ARGB/RGB fans as per your choice and that also individually.

The connection with argb header is required only if you want to control the lighting by the Motherboard. If you want to control the lighting, for example via the Masterplus, usb header is enough.

@@arpamn3507 I’m trying to find which one is better to control non cooler master products using the cooler master ARGB controllers bro my Mobo does not have ARGB header so I can’t use software like Aura sync or mystic light or Fusion 2.0 etc I need to know if I can control individual led and control brightness in them for other branded items like my deepcool aio

With my connection you can control it via masterplus software, the motherboard control and from the reset button in the front panel

It doesnt say exactrly. But i have connected with hubs 6 fans in 3 inputs and it has another 2 inputs. I believe at least a dozen fans

@@nicoloatria connect your fan directly to your motherboard. If the color is ok then the controller is faulty

yes there are three ways to turn the lights off. a) via masterplus application b) via the "LED Mode Adjustment" button on the controller and c) via your pc reset button if you create the bridge ( 2:48 )

there are 3 ways to control it. The best way is via the software

As v2 you are talking about the Addressable Gen 2 RGB LED Controller right? If thats correct this is the v1. You cannot buy the v2 yet.
